Strange...but true....

A couple of days ago I was testing my Thailand map before packing it up to send to Fly_zo for acceptance as a full map.

I was trying to check which objects I had on the map, to avoid including in the pack any unnecessary ones and thereby reducing the size of the pack...

I was putting a '-' in front of different folders in the MODS folder, in order to temporarily disable them and to see if the map gave an error and was prevented from opening

Whatever I disabled it still loaded fine Confusedhock: :?

Now I knew that Lal_Rone's hangers were in use on the map and even with them disabled it still loaded fine.........BUT they didn't appear on the ground.

Now I remember we all had trouble with Canon's Channel map until he gave us the lines of text for his hanger to add to our static.ini.....

SO...I'm presuming it works like this.......

if an object is on the map ....but its details are not in the static.ini then it will cause the map to fail to save a mission

if an object is on the map and its details ARE in the static.ini...BUT its folder with the new tga's etc is not in the MODS folder, or has an incorrect path...then the map will load OK but that object will not appear upon the ground

am I correct in this line of speculation or not?

This definitly helps to find the structure that we are missing Fred. The theory seems very logical as well. It would seem that this set of files "hold hands" in the file structure, if one is omitted, problems happen. Is there any way I can help you test this theory further? Keep in mind that I am still using your orginal "no new buildings" 4.09 fix.

I will help however I can. Once we get this nailed....I might have a crack at a map.
