I'll try to add a couple of castles, but maybe i can find some friends (swiss...) too to help identifying the most important castles, I think this is the first problem to solve.

If the castle is outside any town or village, there's no need to work with FMB map mode, just work with normal FMB and save mission file with name of the castle. When all these castles are done just paste the [Buildings] from each castle mission into the actors inBuildings.txt file then run "create" with the actors tool. If the castle is inside a town, then, as you said, one have to clear the place before mission castle building takes place (it can still be done as a simple mission template)
I think this is important because the castles are the spice of most western european countries. We have an Italy_DF map without casles

Anyway I think it's best to concentrate on castles outside towns etc, as you said it's a pain to remove things from towns...

Flying in a slow plane in poor weather gives strange feelings...
Starting to cross the Alps coming from Italy

great work!

but maybe a tad too great?
I also get the memory error, the first time when I zoomed in on Muenchen. The next time I jumped right into the plane and flew for a while without problems and got the memory error when hitting the "done" button.

the memory problem for me is connected to FMB and zooming into the bigger cities.
I get the read memory error for Muenchen an Wien for example but not for let's say Graz.

When flying over Muenchen or Augsburg all seems well but the memory error may or my not occur when ending the mission. I only got him when playing from FMB, not when choosing it as single mission (yet), whatever that means.
I hope this helps.

cities too crowded and too many too crowded cities on the huge map?

Great job. Cities looks excellent. You really pushed good old IL2 engine to it's limits.

Seems i can add some glaciers and castels, many thanks. I think i will mark thecatels as sightseeing ponts at the ed_m's. If you, Waggel, want to include those bavarian items just make them, but please follow that irrevocable order:

Girls.
Bier.
Castels.

Well, than pretzels, trousers and cows as you want ;-)

No austrians arround here?

ZipZapp, the more I dig into the map the more I get exited. Such a vast terrain.
We can do so many offensives. I am wondering when you finish with it, if you can keep one whole version and also include two or more split versions for better playability.
Obviously, I do not know the amount of work that is needed to do this, so only if it is very simple and only if you feel like it. I am deeply grateful for the version as it is now.
Many thanks

As a follow up, my work pc being an AMD Athlon 64 FX-60, Dual , 2 Gb RAM and a GF 7900GTX does NOT crash after playing it in FMB , quiting and hitting "Done"
It locks up over Munchen and other big cities, though.
I will keep looking for patterns for the former.

The PC that crashes is an Intel E8500, 2 GB RAM, GF GTX280

May I request you model a populated Oktoberfest in muenchen? as it is it looks like a very sad coal miners city, lots of industry, not much joyWink

Did anyone ever consider moddeling civilian (i.e. girls waiving up to the victorious pilot)?

some castles would definitely fit in.

also, from how I understand this map, you left out Ulm completely, north of Memmingen, Where iller and Donau meet. a very important railway centre and autobahn cross even at that time (a very impressive church is the trademark).

Wow, outstanding work and such a huge map!

One thing i found very lovely is the village Neidingen Wink realy cool ^^

But I have some problems too...
If I start a flight and end it, my game crashes every time I come back to the FMB.
And I see some weird green lights (looks like Fog?) on the horizon (about 5km around the plane...)

But anyway, great work so far Smile
