i think he means the fact that when you die before it explodes, your goal is not reached and the target (mostly a big american carrier) do not have any damages from it, just like the bombs or torpedos that doesn't have any effect if the pilot is dead before his bomb (or torpedo) hits the target.

that could be a really nice mod!
