I wanted to try to simulate smoke puffs from the wings on the allied aircraft. This is my first attempt. I was able to convert the spent gunshells into smoke. I don't mind giving up the shells, I like the smoke much better Not all aircraft in the game have the ejected shell action, so this mod only adds smoke to airplanes that do. I experimented with different shades of grey and opacities and have settled on this right now. I'm not sure what affect it will have on frame rate on all systems, but it doesn't bog my system down much; I have the smoke set to end after a few seconds after the guns are fired. I've got an older P4 3GHZ system and everything seems to run fine. The effect is not perfect, but I like it much better than nothing!

** Note this mod does not edit any of the weapon files, the smoke effects are cosmetic only.

Verry cool effect Maven! If I can only have one or the other I ll take the smoke. Sorry for derailing your thread earlier.
Why is .50 tracers / smoke a taboo? would be nice to to be able to see where your shots are going like German/ Russian flyers can...

They've been deleted, because that needs the use of dark arts. Let's hope panzerkill will create a mod where only the needed tracer files will be included hence not breaking any rules.

Well i did what i was told to do by changing the files and replacing them with what was posted, a few posts back that is and i still see no smoke coming from the guns? any help would be great, thanks.

yeah i thk panzerkill forgot about the trail.mat we had to put in and some of the lines he said to copy and past where not the same as the lines we where supposed to copy and paste lets hope panzerkill uploads something since its a cosmetic mod he showed us and not a weapon mod

Your MOD is great Maven !! But what about other planes? i mean like ME-410/210?

I know you want to change bullets for smoke but for planes like this one it looks quite ridiculous :wink: :wink:
