I am currently playing with AAA aircraft mod, several new aircraft mods and lots of effect mods installed into my 4.08m and quite enjoying it, but I find more and more campaigns downloaded are requiring 4.09b1m so I am considering upgrading my IL2 1946 to that version, but I'm just wondering if the 4.091bm can be installed succesfully after so much stuff has been added to my 4.08m, making it far not a clear one

I'm downloading the 4.091bm patch weighting 255.34mb and I don't want to install it at the risk of failing thus ruining my 4.08m so I'm here to ask for the possibility of success


(Another question: 4.091bm doubles the viewing distance from the 4.08m, which sounds the only factor that seems to bring a drop to the FPS, is it possible to have 4.09 patch installed and keep the original viewing distance unchanged for I 'm a little worried about my laptop)

You should be fine to use 4.09b1m over your modded 4.08, but make sure you use the version from here rather than from the UBI site.

After installing 4.09b1m, you can use the version switcher (look in the "IL2 MODS DOWNLOAD v4.08" section) to go back to 4.08 and mods/no mods for compatibility online.

To get the extended viewing distance in 4.09, you have to change a setting in conf.ini - if you want to keep the original view distance, just don't change it!

Most sincere thanks to your reply but could you please be kind enough to tell me where I can find the link of the "version from here", I am now having the 4.09b1m patch downloaded from the mission4today site and I'm not sure whether to install that. and I would more than appreciate it if I can find a 4.09 version from our great Triple A site.....many thanks again
