Chillon, Valere, I already have them, even the little castle at Ouchy, of course they don't look very much like the originals but at least they are on the map... I have also the little tower at Martigny...Added the Hornli Hutte mountain hut at the leg of Matterhorn too

I have played around futher on this fantastic mapSmile

zipzapp, I have found two things you might want to look at. The airfield at munich.

Riem, the one to the east, has a too short runway. I found it difficult to get a 262 off the ground by the end when starting alone, when you are in the front of a four or more ship formation I would say it is well too short. in RL they had a some 2km runway there.
as it is an essential base for late war jet ops, it maybe should have a longer runway.

the other, south western airfield (Lechfeld?) has a hill blocking the south western exit direction. it is impossible for a jet to get over there (AI crashes allways). i think there should be a way to take off facing away from the city?

maybe you want to look at that.

Vampire: Thanks for the laud. I will make the runways longer. Thought short ones would be some additional thrill but did not account for ai-jets . The hill: Same reason and i thought one also could take off the other direction, but it seems framerates are a problem there so i will flaten it. There are still enough places where no thinking animal would have build one ;-)

Bada: Seems you started to rework all 80+ airfields ;-) Feel free to enhance what ever you want. I have to admit that i did not do any historical research. Thought if i start that i never will finish, so even some of the more basic airports are not so very exicting now.

lowfighter: Did i miss a post? Swiss castels seem to be ready but i have not seen them yet. But there are still two weeks till finishing the map or even more.

Dont care about the woods or bumby ground, i will clear that.

I'm very curious about it.

Very sweet looking airfields Bada, this map is getting really exciting !

Munich_Riem: weren't the JV44 262s based here ?

If so, shouldn't the runway be made of concrete ?

rollnloop, not it wasn't, long grass strips and concrete plates. a jet did not need concrete runways all the time, by late 45 allmost all concrete strips where destroyed already, grass fields could still be operated and repaired easily.

one more thing, a part of the autobahn beteen Munich and augsburg should be available as a landing strip too, was also used quite well. can this be done?

Zipzapp, I paste the castles below, not big invention but at least they are on the map. Maybe in time we can add more, also from Italy, Austria, France, Germany, after all it's just some castles from 2 Swiss cantons. And also make them look closer to reality (combining better the objects).
It's not possible to incorporate in the actors what i paste here, unless you DELETE the

items (I placed them in destroyed mode "0" and looks like the actor tools "create" doesn't like destroyed objects)

BTW Zipzapp, your airfields, although they have the simple original il2 structure, they are very nice, they look very much alive, I wanted to say that several times but got caught by other Alps issues...

Hi zipzapp- loving the map Big Grin I know it must be pretty cool when my wife (who hates the time I spend on IL-2, especially lately it's been more Wink ) walks behind me as I am flying your map and says "Oh- that's pretty!" 8)

I've had one small issue- I skimmed the previous posts but forgive me if this has been posted before:

Note the water and reflections of the mountains in the background. I'd never seen this before. Was this from something in the map? Otherwise great screenshot making map! Can't wait to put together more than a sightseeing mission 8)

That's happening because the lakes are placed at altitude. If the lakes are placed at 0m you don't have weird reflections but you do have lakes at the bottom of really deep valleys.
