Getting His Feet Wet

Walking out and about in Prohorovka.with my camera one fine morning I happened to spot a Me323 attempting to land at a grass airfield on the hill nearby. The pilot overshot the runway and rolled down the hillside. I aexpected to see a disastrous accident, but the huge plane kept on rolling, and went straight across a river! I managed to get this shot of the event...



What gives? Is this a german experiment in amphibious aeroplanes? A new method evolved in the field to expedite the cleaning of aircraft wheels? Or has allied propaganda masked the true nature of the Me323, in that it was actually designed by Howard Hughes?

Oh definitely digital. Colour film too, hard to get in 1943.
