fabianfred Wrote:easy to open the load.ini file of the Slot map and compare the data for the water with that of this map... and then choose your own...

[WATER]
Water = water/Water.tga
;Water = water/PacificWater.tga
;WaterColorATI = 0.140 0.175 0.230
WaterColorATI = 0.150 0.225 0.180
;WaterColorNV = 0.140 0.185 0.268
WaterColorNV = 0.165 0.264 0.233

the ones not in use have a ; in front of their line which means that data is not read

Hello again FabianFred," Water " lines in the " Load" file for Philippines is as follows:

[WATER]
Water = Italy_DF/water/ItalyWater.tga
//WaterColorATI = 0.175 0.215 0.255
WaterColorATI = 0.150 0.235 0.175
WaterColorNV = 0.140 0.185 0.268
//WaterColorNV = 0.165 0.264 0.233

If I delete this and replace it with your above references " Slot" -water. Will that give me blue pacific water on the Philippines map ?

I am in receipt of your PM-Thanks your map is my next priority.

Bee Wrote:FF, I think the problem you are having there is that some of the custom objects are missing from the install. I recently fixed this while messing around in my static.ini The bits you want are two Pagodas, one Burma and one Thai, I think. :wink:

I have read thru the pages in the" Thailand " thread. It appears I need to download Cannons map and various other details to have any sucess saving a mission.

Thanks for your " Pagoda " help.

OT ,I love Thai food

this is the one from the slot

[WATER]
Water = water/PacificWater.tga
WaterColorATI = 0.140 0.175 0.230
\\WaterColorATI = 0.150 0.225 0.180
WaterColorNV = 0.140 0.185 0.268
\\WaterColorNV = 0.165 0.264 0.233

but the lines with \\ in front there is no need to add since they are disabled

the phillipines one is this

[WATER]
Water = Italy_DF/water/ItalyWater.tga
//WaterColorATI = 0.175 0.215 0.255
WaterColorATI = 0.150 0.235 0.175
WaterColorNV = 0.140 0.185 0.268
//WaterColorNV = 0.165 0.264 0.233

so make the new one this..

[WATER]
Water = water/PacificWater.tga
WaterColorATI = 0.140 0.175 0.230
WaterColorNV = 0.140 0.185 0.268

Hey guys, this map has no problem with actors.static... there are no modded objects and no modded textures so it has nothing to do with any actors.static

If you made a regular modded installl, for example with Mod Activator (I don't know for Unified AAA Installer...) you'll have a generic static.ini... and the map loads without problem...

But what can happen is a crash when you try to load the map in FMB after you have played a mission... it's a problem of memory... huge size... lack of memory. It happens for me too ! You have to reload the game after playing mission in order to load the map in FMB.

About "personal enhancements"... textures, water... for maps made by someone... why not to try to bring your imagination to life by making your own new map from scratch... there are still some uncovered regions :wink:

D!

Thanks for working out that Wonderful Map_F it works perfectly!!!

Has such been added to the final download yet for Expert users or is there a few more loose ends being taken care of?

( Just wanted to know so I could pass along the final Download Link to my Squadmates.)

P.S. Campaign coming along Great! I will make a thread for such when its almost finished.

Delvpier - thanks for this beautiful map. I'm wondering if at some point you are thinking of adding roads? The map is great now for air-to-air battles, but for historical scenarios based on the late-war battles, the roads on Leyte and Luzon were important targets for both sides. I think only a few simple roads need to be added.

Please do not take this as criticism - I'm very grateful for what you have already done.

Well, I plan to release an updated version with some enhancements (I hope... :wink: ) including map_F reworked and fully functional (only Dixiecapt has at this time...), reworked heights, changes in water color, adds of objects and reworked cities, 2 more airfields Iba and Vigan, Dutch Petroleum installations on Borneo...

About roads, you're right, they miss... I plan at least to link Manilla and Clark by road and rail... but for others I have some problems... Firstly roads are links between cities and, at this time, there are only the most important cities... on different islands... so if I want roads, I would have to create some other minor cities at least on Luzon... Secondly, painting roads you have to add the number of the texture on which you paint to ... I don't remember the number for roads... and if you look at map_t, plains are made with a real patchwork of texture... as for result a hard work to calculate the number of every pixel you paint... I will see

Sorry to be late for update... but these last two weeks I worked mostly for others than for my own projects :wink:

Thank you for kind words...

Thanks Delvpier.

You have created an excellent map - it really is one of the most attractive that has been created so far. I'm glad you're looking at adding roads. Also, if you are looking at extra air bases you should consider Manapla (on the NW of Negros) as this is where the Ki-84's were based that shot down Tommy McGuire.

As with the esteemed Dixiecapt and Poltava, I'm a mission builder, and am planning to use your map in a big way. I'm happy to use what you have created so far - anything extra is a big bonus.

I think everyone appreciates what you have done, but just a few little extras will really put the icing on the cake.....

I appreciate :wink:

... but definitely the Queen of all new maps is The Slot... and I like much LybiaN-E and Malta and Kwajalein... and other maps are very good too... of course Smile

Re "Dutch petroleum installations on Borneo"........... historically, the most northerly of those installations were on the island of Tarakan, which is not on this map. The others were around Balikpapan, which is much further to the south. The part of Borneo included with this map was British Borneo and the most northely oil installations there were around Miri (not on this map either).
While struggling with my East Java map I started work on two Borneo maps... so far only made map_c, map_t and map_h, nothing more. Originally I wanted to include Davao and Jolo on the East Borneo map, but I'm not sure that such a large map would even load................
