[DOWNLOAD TOUR 1] (Slot) VMF-213 Hell Hawks Campaign
#76

It might be just that. Dixiecapt, any other planes/cockpits you forgot to mention ?

In my case the problem might also be coming from bad install of the map and custom objects. The install process for these mods is manual, which makes it easier for a mod noob like myself to screw it up. I'll research that deeper later today.
What do I need to call the Slot maps in all.ini ? Also, any known mistakes I could have made while adding the new objects to the static.ini ? I can see the new objects in FMB, but cannot 'visualise' them in the object window and cannot place them on the map either, which leads me to believe I did something wrong at some point (woop, big surprise Big Grin lol )

Sorry for being so helpless, perhaps our misadventures will help you help others with the same problem as ours for further releases.

Cheers

To those who have reported getting an error when trying to play the first mission of this campaign.

(Sorry was away for the Weekend!)

You also need the PBN Cockpit Mod, I was sure this wouldn't be an issue as the Unified INstaller has the PBN Cockpit, but I had downloaded this PBN Cockpit Update when I made the Campaign.

The first mission is in a PBN.

To Those getting an error at the start, Try to Download this: (The link is inoperative)

Other fixes would be to open the Campaign.ini and Remove the first mission from the list.

Also another good test would be to try and open the SLot in FMB if you haven't flown on the map yet and make sure you have it installed right.

Ahah ! Thanks for that Dixiecapt !

About the Slot, does the name under which the different versions of the map appear in FMB really matter ? i.e, do I need to give each a specific name with a specific syntax in the all.ini or oes the campaign recognize the maps by the name of the files ?

Dunno if that's clear... Anyway, I shoudl know in a handful of seconds Big Grin

Well, a few missions in and I don't really have any comments to make. It's all... wow, like, DUDE ! Wink

Seriously, very good campaign. I can't fly that Corsair in a straight line but that's my probelm really...

Concerning the first mission, I would perhaps make the PBY start outside of the docks, as I had a few collision issues when the waves swept the pontoons up and tore off my wings Big Grin

Nice job on the bases too, love the level of details.

If I spot something I don't like I'll be sure to tell you all about it. In the meantime ROCK ON !

Cheers

I've been distracted with a Far East Air Force B-17 Campaign Smile. That and i MIGHT be releasing All The Kings Panthers Book III really soon.

If you haven't heard of ATKP book 1 or 2 look into them. ATKP is a historical fiction about a British Royal Marine fighter pilot, whom begins his journey in Finland during the winter war. Your adventures in Book one also include The Battle of France, and The Battle of Britian. Book II has our hero flying in the Pacific at the fall of Rangoon, and Singapore.

ATKP: Book I http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?n...ls&id=3017

ATKP: Book II http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?n...ls&id=3050

Ok I know that was a tangent and off Topic so thats all I will say on that.

I will get some Screenshots of Tour 2 up soon, Oh and I never had issues pulling the PBY from the Docks. I just edged up slowly and then took off!

Cheers!

VMF-213 Hellhawks: Tour One cleared for Ship Pack 2.
(read below)

- I built Tour One using the first Ship Pack, I know it will work with such.

- When I Installed the second Ship Pack, I first removed the ShipPack folder from my MODS folder in IL-2. Then I downloaded ShipPack 2, and added both the STD, and ShipPack folder from that download to my MODS folder in IL-2.

(* Note: I hadn't had an STD folder before hand.)

- I then opened the missions of the VMF-213 Hellhawk: Tour One campaign in FMB and checked on the Ships I had placed. They all had been renamed to match the new Shippack, but were the same ships!

I hope this helps. Download the New ShipPack, and read the ReadMe instructions when installing.

Hello DixieCapt,

Where are the mission files with renamed ships? Which ships shall be renamed? I suppose this is not an automatic process, is it?

Thanks in advance,

Vince

There is no need to Rename anything, Just get Ship Pack 2 installed and go to it!

Dixiecapt,

Where can we download those templates? Our squad is very interested in the slot. Thanks for the campaign an all the hard work.

Stranger,

Which Squad just out of Curiosity?

And I haven't really put the templates out.... No reason for such, just caught up in things.

I would be glad to get a copy of Such released here. However if you wanted template one you could Download this Campaign, then on the second mission, that has VMF-213 Flying Into Cactus, just remove that flight from the Map with FMB and Boom, you got a pure copy of template one.

I had to re build template 2 as the thumb drive I had had it saved on got lost, I am almost done with that template, but I have been caught up in the Far East Air Force Campaign for the Philippines map atm.

Thanks Dixie. Our squad is Airgroup 51

http://www.airgroup51.com/

We as a squad just got 4.09b installed. We always had the mods. What I did was a clean install then installed all the mods we like as a squad. Then I burned two DVDS with the clean install. Also I added the switcher so all you have to do is drag the two files to get any version you want.

Here is the readme

Welcome to Stanger's Funhouse. This is IL2 full 4.09bm modded version.

Just copy over to anyplace you want not over your existing install. On DVD two are the game skins and squad skins I downloaded from our site.
Copy your config file, rcu file in root directory from your original install. Also copy your USER directory in game. All theese files have your settings so you do not have to do a thing.

All the mods I installed in game are in this list.

Mods
4.09b
Sound mod 9.02-sounds
Wrapper
AAAmodpack 2.7- Planes
VPdefaultmapmods-Improved some textures on maps for better fps.
ACinstaller2.3
English career fix
Net campaign fix
slotversion1.1
Shippack2
F6f mirror mod
p-51d mirror mod
slipery mods
Flushys cloud mod
Carrier Take off mod.
Windconfig Mod

You can add more mods as you wish.

I have changed the ingame screen splashshots and menu music. Humor me and turn on music in game and at least listen once thru the menus.
Music is Victory AT SEA, Baa Baa Blacksheep and Mchales Navy.

Anymore mods that you install be careful and look to see if it changes the il2.exe file or the file.sfs. If it does your default files for switching mod versions will be compromise. I can talk you thru that.

In game I added a dir called Switcher where this readme file is. You have four versions to switch from. Just copy from the version you want into the games root directory and replace.

4.08
4.08 mod
4.09b
4.09b mod
This way if you screw something up just pull out my DVD's and copy installation over off of DVD's and you are up and running.

Now as a squad I made it easy for all to get up to speed. Our home is the carrier SanJac. With ship mod 2.0 we got our home and many thanks to Archie and FC. So we are intersted in the slot. Even though historical SANJAC did not see the slot. We are still making missions. We are carrier base and you do not see much carrier operations campaigns.

We still love the hard work like you putting out campaigns like yours. We love to fly anything in the Pacific.

I just introduce the Idea to our squad about doing a historical campaign with the SANJAC.

In the meantime one squad mate is doing a early slot campaign so I thought your templates would help a lot in his effort.

Also we are meeting in Oregon for a Tailhook lan party. Once a year we get together for a few days and have a lan party. This is next week.

Thanks

Just wanted to say a big "Thanks" for your efforts with creating this campaign. This really got me into playing Il2 again after a 1.5 year break! I particularly like the well researched historic background and all the details like the nicely populated camps, and such. Henderson Field is awesome!
Most of those missions are very lengthy, even with time compression, but that's the way it was.

I'm already looking forward part two and three!!

Hey everyone, No i'm not talking about Monday's Stockmarcket Crash...

I went camping this weekend and when I returned my computer was off. I tried to start it up, and nada, all I get is a pin hole of light on the monitor. My TV in the living room is also messed up and wont hold a picture.

Considering that, and that the clocks were all blinking I think that lightning, or some kind of power surge is the issue.

I don't know if my computer is fixable, and even though I will be looking into such, I can hardly afford Gas right now, so it seems that I might be S.O.L. for some time.

Not to mention the Philippines Campaign, and VMF-213 Campaigns I was still working on.

I've no plan to pick back up on those from scratch as will most likely be the case.

I do however have missions files from my WIP Slot and Philippeans Campaigns on Thumb Drives, and would be more than Happy to Share those with whomever would like them.

Remember you can erase the action from the mission files and can use the templates for static and DCG campaigns. Smile

I hope to have everything fixed and be back in the skies by X-mas at worst, but my Campaign building days look to be officialy over.

Cheers Smile

Definitely sounds like you had a lightning strike. The only way to truly protect electronics is to unplug them from the wall outlets. Lightning can even make it's way through a surge suppressor and fry things. Sorry to hear of the loss of your tv and computer. Sad
