I am back slowly working upon the Lower Burma map..

and making an ed_map_t.tga file has helped with boat traffic up some of the wider rivers in the Irrawaddy delta..

Hi Fred

Thought you'd might like this site if you are going to include any of these airfields on your new great creation.

Yunnan China Airfields

Hope you can use or you may already know of this site.

Thanks.... any and all info on airfields in Burma is welcome. I am not in a position to go to the National Archives like Canon is for his maps Cry

I am slowly finding some of the airfields used in burma, and I will be using a large plate i have made with FC's help ... 500mx1500m and have made a dirt/sand type of tga for it .. I think most airstrips in the theatre were very rough and often unuseable during the monsoon season.

I have transfered Moulmein and Rangoon and Chiangmai etc. from the thai map to this one

still got to join up and extend the rail/road network too

Although many WW2 strips have since disappeared, some present day ones are built upon the old wartime ones and extended etc. so it is possible to get their correct location and bearing from Google earth...and even still see the remains of where the closed airstrips were (in some cases, but not all)
