Please , each engine sound = which aircraft ? help
#16

Hi vpmedia ,
yeah that would be logic thing with sound mods preset files but I thought that SG2_Wasy was asked by Jolly to use same engine sound files names like are in 0.93 to get rid of this compability issue and butons file problem .
SFX_0.8 should have by now the same compatible preset files for buttons file not to make it confusing and not requiring of different buttons file install.
I may also be wrong but that's what I believe did happened .
I have likely all preset files working by now except for griffon preset file , I still don't know if any aircraft is depending on this file or if it's working at all with my buttons file which should be still 0.93 file with my set up.

Thank you for a lot of very nice work with engines and other sound mods , thank you for clearing up Jumo 211 question , we're getting closer and closer moving forward .
I know that " griffon " engine sounds are from Jaffaem sound pack but what is " sakae " ? engine sound ?
I found " sakae " in your SFX 0.8 sound pack , please, what aircraft is using it ?
Also your sound files have Allison and Allison_tb , a few other engines sound have this " _tb " thing , what is difference for engines with _tb and without _tb and for which aircraft they are used ?
Slowly but surely we will find the answers ........................................................... :?:

Thank you

Sincerely,
HolyGrail
tb its simple identificator what this preset used for planes with turbocharger (somthing like this). It's primary P-38 and P-47.

And about Griffon (first it's was maked by Tiger33, not Jafaem) this preset maked for coming Mk14, and i hope it's still coming. But for test we add this preset for Spit 25lbs... It's stil with merlin, but with another sound.

Sakae used for a6m (all version) and Ki-43 (all version)

All mustangs use Packard-merlin preset

I got Jafem's sound pack from here :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejWvcV-0e9I
Download link for sound mod promo is in right upper corner next to his name .
Maybe you would like to take a look to see which sound files were used .
Those are actually pretty good , not bad at all .
Jafaem's sound files are all working except for Griffon preset which is not in 0.93 buttons file so in order to listen to this 25Lb spitfire sound I used your SG2 Wasy buttons file and Griffon was working.
This sound is simply out of this world bloody fantastic , holy cow what a sound !!!
Unfortunately I have issues with some other sound files of mine with your buttons file so I had to go back to 0.93 buttons file .
I can live with that having all sounds working just without very nice one aircraft Spit 25lb Griffon engine sound[/url]

i was wondering...why the packard_merlin doesnt work with the unified installer..since it does come with the presets....and also..is it just me or all twin-engine plane sounds...sound weird ( for example the BF-110 engines sound weird when you hear the 2 resonating ) what i find it odd is that when Jafaem showed the new sound pack...the Mosquito didnt sounded like a double merlin engines...

So how do you fix a plane where the sound in the cockpit is off or just wind? I have this problem with various addon spits seafires and hurricanes.

Well, the only thing that I did to find out when I got no sound for some aircraft was : when flying , pushing both SHIFT and TAB keys to see game console where I could read which engine wav. sounds files game can't open and then I looked in to my sample folder , when some were missing , I used also some other mods engine wav. files that I liked to get those files and pasted them in my sample folder .
It's hard to tell which preset files are read by my my current " Buttons " file unless doing more homework , so by getting in to games console , it will tell you what it needs or what is missing in order for you to fix the problem and can finally hear the troublesome sounds .
Since we can't get in to buttons file , it's a little bit frustrating task but game console is very helpful in finding quickly as possible what is the problem with any missing planes engine sounds.
Tweaking my engine sound files was a rollercoaster , and I even found sometimes that while I had outside cockpit sound files I was missing those inside due to my tinkering and a lot of sound files replacing .
If console sound error is asking for specific engine sound file , just make sure you have the specific engine sound file in your sample folder or rename any new files that you've got , to match and to be exactly the same name of the sound wav. file that you see in your game console .
example DB605 wav. or db605 wav. , at least my game console showed error if all DB605 wav. files were not named exactly the same , it have to match names inside preset file .
Got all sort it out Smile
Sincerely,
HolyGrail
