Just thought I'd post some shots of my JU88, for Zorin really, in another thread Z mentions not taking close ups of JU88s untill theyve fixed it? I dont think theres anything wrong with my model and it looks ok close up? It all depends on how much time you want to spend skinning it, I think the only thing that really lets the games JU88 down is the lack of quality skins....most skins I ever see done for this bird leave much to be desired.

Anyway these are shots of work I did on the JU 88 just skinning it, some are Progressive WIPs & some are finished....hopefully Z these dont make the JU look like such a pig

Granted, you got a point there.

Yet we both know that it is mostly down to your talent and skills, because the general model in itself is of a rather questionable quality with clear deficiencies in the mapping department. Especially the engine and gear nacelles are poorly executed and the whole cockpit glazing being done via alpha channel is just disrespectful to the plane.

So people, be grateful that Shooter manages to make her look respectful and pray that he will be willing to make the template and default skin for the reworked models.

Well, I hope you're going to release these skins, because they look terrific - amongst the very best I've seen for the Ju88

There are a few good Ju88 skinners out there - Imme has done some very nice ones for BoB and MTO Ju88's.

Hey chaps I'm happy you approve of my works on the JU88, I did take it on originally as a bit of a personal project for the reasons 'Z' mentions, the 3D model does leave a little to be desired, so I thought I'd have a go at trying to make it look a little better by spending a heap of time mapping the model & creating a high detail template to try and compensate for the poor modelling in places... I think I managed to do it to an extent, but never got round to releasing any work from the template for one reason or another
Unfortunately releasing skins of any type isnt on the cards for the time being I'm afraid, well at least not untill Ive decided what to do as far as my skinning career is concerned. Do I continue to skin & continue being annoyed by the issues that have stopped me doing it at present or do I jack it in and save myself the annoyance? These questions I'm having to ask myself and I still havent answered them ... so will just have to see
