BF 109E floating gun sight - help please
#1

I have the unified installer package to 4.09. I downloaded Peter Kempf's "BattleAxe" with a Bf 109E. However in cockpit the gunsight has disembodied itself to the left corner of the screen. There must be a workaround for this? Any expert guidance out there to point the way? Many thanks in advance. DW

From his description, it doesn't sound like a Shift+F1 problem.

Do you have the 6DOF mod? :?

No 6dof. Just straight 4.09m/unified installer etc - like inside the cockpit - only this aircraft - there's the front view windscreen, however the gun sight is detached near the top left of the cockpit. This is the second campaign I've had to dump because of this issue. If I promise to buy anybody a beer - any suggestions (keep it decent Big Grin ) DW

I don't know how things go with the Unified Installer, I don't personally like to use it, but what he means guys, is the problem with Freddy's Cockpits that we saw earlier... when the gunsight was damaged it was all in pieces on the top left corner of the cockpit, on the window... I installed independently so it works fine for me... but your problem is with the cockpit mods. Sorry, i can't help any more. :?

You've got it. Perfect. That's it. So we're stuck. Great. Use the unified installer and dump some campaigns or don't and use other campaigns. Problem is, unless u waste time downloading and installing the damn things how will you know they work or not? Thanks mate. That was it. Two campaigns down the tube for the same reason. So dump the installer and take your chances or not use the installer and take your chances. Thanks for the feedback. I owe you that beer. But its not really an answer is it? As for me - dump the installer - be independent and choose what you want, that way at least all will work. Thanks to all. Much appreciated. DW

I feel the same about the UI installer. I downloaded it, tried it out, and ran into more damn problems with it. I play mostly offline or hook up with my buddy only and so don't need all this other stuff. I also found that there was real issues with some of the mods in UI. It's kinda nice to dl a mod and just hit 'Run', but I find those mods limited. I don't mind spending the time looking around the various folders and working out where stuff goes; I've become rather conversant with where things are now and have standardized a lot of mods into the STD folder.

I feel this is a case of convenience over flexibility.

Great days all.
