Salute,

thanks guys Wink yea I use 3ds max 2009 since il2 is created with 3ds max in the first place, and I use 3ds max for years so ... yea it is 3ds max Tongue

Goshikisen:
Wow!

Looking really good. I take it the Shoki will be AI to start?

Is there enough commonality between the Hayabusa and Shoki cockpits that the earlier aircraft's cockpit could be used as a placeholder?

A: Uhm proberly no AI since I am actualy making it for my squad and most likely has multiplayer purposes ( not sure if I wrote that right )

Made a quick overlay and sadly the result is as suspected, your plans are quite inaccurate. The thick line shows your plans, which are around the cockpit, rear fuselage and tail completely off.

This may be interesting in regard to the flaps mechanism:

Salute,

Thanks for comments and thanks for the blueprint zorin, just wondering though, u are saying that its inaccurate but I just wonder how you compared it since as far as I know I never shown you guys a picture of my Ki-44 from the side, Could you please go more into detail since I am finding this quite important; although right now I am doing all the naming and ribs and to hear this now is kinda late if you know what I mean.

As you can see above, I made an overlay with the plan you used over the far more accurate one I scanned for you. That's how I came to the conclusion that your model must be off, as it was made with these plans.

Well, and I'm of course sorry that I didn't manage to scan them earlier, but your initial post already showed the model in a rather developed state. :?

Ah yes I see what you mean now. I got these blueprints from danger wich are from a book if I am correct and not the one you find on the internet. when I got them they were like 4000x4000 and really good quality, ofcourse I resized it but I don't think I gave it a diffrent shape. Ill be honest with you that I didn't check wether the blueprint was accurate or not since I don't know alot about airplanes and especially ww2 planes, lets just say that I got the blueprints shoved in my hands and I started working on it. But still do you think that when this airplane is in game that people would say: mmh its shape is not accurate ... cause I doubt that will happen. and are we using the same versions of the ki-44 here ?
Maby your right zorin but I am just trying to protect the fact that later on someone says: you can better start over, if you know what I mean

1. These are the ones you used: http://www.airwar.ru/image/idop/fww2/ki44/ki44-1.gif And I even think I know out of which book they were scanned Wink

2. Well, you'd be surprised how many sharp eyed people are around here, so yes, they would notice it, promised.

3. It is your decision whether you want to correct it or not. I myself would be pissed as hell if someone rained on my parade like this, so you have all the rights to proceed with what you have.

Salute,

Thanks for the post Zorin. Yep those are the ones. the thing at the moment is ... what blueprint is right I mean you say my blueprints are not the right ones but maby its ur blueprint that is not right, but at this point it doesn't really matter; the thing is that there are proberly alot of blueprints of the ki-44 and that one is a little bit longer then the other kinda sucks. Personally I don't wanne change it since I am working on the structure, I already cut everything in pieces and named everything ... to me its like going back 10 steps wich I don't really like to be honest but yea you are totaly right, my blueprint is inaccurate, but I don't wanne do something about it unless I am gonna get alot of posts from now on that I should change it. oh btw don't worry you can crit as much as you want, if people crit and say what I should do better then the model will only improve so if anyone has crits... bring them on Smile

Is there any way that the tail can be shortened to fit Zorin's Blueprint? It almost looks as though the ear fuselage from the cockpit backwards is slightly too long while the rest of the aircraft comes relatively close to what it's supposed to be.

The only thing you obvius really can notice is that the tail leangth wrong, so maybe it is possible just to correct the leangth? if its possible?
Whatever you choose to do with this bird, you have done a great job. Thank you for doing it Big Grin

For me it looks like that the overlaid drawings in Zorin's picture just don't have the same scale. Zorin, try to scale the drawings so that the total length is the same. That should give a much better fit, perhaps the largest error may be no bigger than line thickness.
