Hi mates, the b-29 is a hard plane to deal with, its hard to shoot down, have good weapons and fly fast in straight flyght. so any one has tips to shoot down this super plane. Of course a plane with big guns can shoot the b29 almost easily, but if you are using a fighter with the normal 20mm cannon. Some times i try to shoot the pilot but almost never i hit the target hahaha... i simply dont know were the pilot is on left on right. but you guys any tip to shoot this beast down?
Yeah, attack from the side and go for the engines.
take it head on slightly below the nose at an angle.
Taking down ANY American bomber requires both skill and luck. Although I feel your pain ... it is kind of a fact of life.
They did not call it the Flying Fortress and the Superfortress for nothing.
Shoot the engines? Sure that will work if you've got time to wait for the engines to wear down, as they don't usually catch fire easily.
I'd say aim for the fueltanks, or if you're a good shot, take off his left elevator, then his right... If you manage to pick off the rudder in that go as well, then you should be well set to get a kill if he tries to manouvre the aircraft.
I tend to do head-on attacks on those and knock out the pilot, but it's individual preferences for everyone I guess :wink:
For the Ki-27 remark, the Gladiator Mk.1 works fine for killing pilots as well in a head on, even twice in a row if need be :wink:

Fury dive it then R4M it at close range: they spread out neatly like explosive buckshot, and no one can hit a 500mph Me262 (they can fly at up to 620mph before parts fall off). Of course, if the R4M's miss, that's a bugger... Other than that, never fly on its tail, you'll get rinsed; take it from the front if poss; try and get canon shells into the cockpit.

I kill one in your takeoff ride, +- 600 m, in one a FW190A, diving for the 4000m. I hit the left wing and the motor 2 start burn in a first dive. The tail gunner must be killed, because no have activit from him in my climb and next aproximation. In the second dive, i shot all the fuselage, from behind to front, and kill the pilot in a lucky shot, i presume. When my plane climb with the rest of energy, i can see the beatiful scene of the Bull deslize under the left wing and espatifate on the ground. No crew survivor. One of the my best moments!
To deal with any bomber... BnZ... that's all i can say...

Come from very high 3 or 9 and shoot with all the big guns on the wings of the B29. Repeat this a few times and the bomber should lose its wings as the structure begins to fail..
It's a question of armament. The B-29 is a massive target and is hittable at longer range than you would normally fire at - if you have the firepower.
I did a mission using the 30mm Hayate as a B-29 hunter and it wasn't that hard to kill them. I just started firing at about 6-700 meters and those big wings just blew off. It was a simple dead-6 stalk with some bobbing around as I closed in to throw the tail gunner's aim off.
Now, if you're using 7.62 calibre mg's, it might be a different story.
