The campaign missions wouldnt load for me, error about 'zip_Alpen_west_load.ini' ? I changed your .mis files to just show zip_alpen_load.ini as I dont have 'west or east_load.ini's' in my zip_alpen folder in mapmods ??

All appears well after this change.

well, as stated in the readme, you should have version 1.2 of that map, which comes with a"full", "east" and "west" actors file for better loading.

but you could help yourself so no problem.

I would like to hear some performance reviews for missions on that map on other peoples machines

Finally flew the first three missions, and had great fun.

I had test the map previously, but only from munchen. Augsburg airbase is very nice too, and the detail you put on the ground makes it very lively.

Third mission was not a success for me, i failed to use the surprise advantage (in fact WE were jumped) and burned my turbines while trying to get enough spacing for hit n run passes. Only was able to fire on 45 headon deflection shots, without success. My wingman disobeyed and engaged again while i headed home, he got one but was then shot. I landed at augsburg, only to get straffed (i had left the bird). Cover patrol was useless, wandering dunnowhere, so was flak.

Next mission is against 4-mots, hope i'll finally get a victory and still survive (left the P-38 kill to my wingman).

the Mustang is not to be taken lightly. So how went the mission againt the 4-Mots?
actually, did you encounter the cover for the Recon? Sometimes these two guys are too far away - but better don't count on it

Didn't play the 4mots yet, busy yesterday

I indeed saw the recon escort, i had them separate form their duty (they dived on me, but since i extended i full speed they must have been limited by compressibility), then started on the pursuit again, and after five long minutes of expectation i saw the contrail again. When 600m behind my prey, unleashed my wingman on him, so we would be two attacking in the case it tried to escape. My wingman opened on him at about 400 meters... and hit.

Ah, just forgot to mention, in the download the skin folders are directly in paintschemes folder, it should paintschemes/skins/acft folder. I suggest unzipping in a temporary folder, then placing the skin folders manually.


Edit, i'm happy to report this first mission against viermots didn't went too bad. My R4Ms missed, but i bagged two Libs and my wingmen got one each. Took some lead though (despite attacking only rear section/stragglers and firing from far), it's happy the engines were untouched, because if any of them takes fire chances to get home by air are very slim.
