#31

ok nothing has worked to get new a/c for me , they are there in other modes eg. QMB ,& horniss campaign etc, so do i try a new 4.o9b1m load up & put the new dgen folder in my playing game & rebuild it starting with this campaign. ? only a suggestion as nothing else has worked . ideas ? also will the title of the campaign change, to say RV v1 as im wondering whether it is vista related , planes etc are in the new renamed files ,everything works bar RVv1. no change in plane load out . any of you guys with this working live in south australia ,i feel i need a second opinion ,this is about the only add on i have not been able to fire up weird.

Hi Fubear,

I don't see where your problem comes from, sorry. Maybe a somewhat messed up DGen folder?

My advice in that case is to restart from a new DGen folder:

1) Delete your DGen folder
2) Copy the original DGen folder from a brand new install into your game's root folder
3) Back it up
4) Install DGen paid add-ons if any
5) Install EnjoyR patches suitable to your combination of paid add-ons.
6) Install Boelcke's RV Reich Defence modded campaign into your desktop.
7) Rename files as I suggested earlier in this thread; be careful to use the proper character to change from DeO to [size=200][b]De

OK WORKS thank you vtrelut & big thank you to Boelcke RV1 is A1 i do apologize to you for any anguish perhaps IL2 is too special to me  , i was unable to pinpiont the cause , may have been a bug or conflict picked up along the way , I did what was working for you other guys but to no avail ,it still would not generate the planes in RV1 , So a fresh install & refit of DGEN patches + rename files works Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin cheers

Now I'm on mission 6 and the campaign is a real fun for me, esp. I'm playing normaly just static campaigns.
Only one thing tarnished the Beauty:

How can eliminate the duplicate markings on the other friendly planes?

No matter if I've the "Markings on" activated or not. Oh, and I'm using the IL2 MAT Manager.

Any help are welcome.

Yes I've installed the skinpack from Jumos west front campaign like you refered. Also I've installed your skinpackages.
Must I uninstall some packages somewhere?

well, did you actually check, where your skinpacks where installed to?
maybe you created a wrong path.

go to the campaign folder that gets created within the campaign/DE folder.
open the latest ....mis file (use notepad or something like that), check which skin is used for the flight in question and then check in your skin folder for that plane if this skin has markings. should not have them.

Also please install EnjoyR patchA skins (or skin patchA, I forgot), LATEST VERSION. It does contain skins without markings, and would overwrite previously installed marked skins.

I've been looking for an experienced modder who would like to teach me a few things about modding IL-2. I'm certainly not a rookie when it comes to computers, but wouldn't call myself a pro either. I've always enjoyed tinkering around with programs and games, and I've even started to learn C++. I'd love to learn how to mod dynamic campaigns, because I love building missions/campaigns and playing them. I was hoping someone here would like to show me the ropes. I think once I learn the tricks of the trade I could make some very cool stuff for the community... Thanks!

Hi mate,

For DGen campaigns editing and modding, we have basically all the tools ready to edit and create new campaigns, add new planes, etc. The only required programme for this is NOTEPAD: everybody can do it. Explanations are available in the DGen articles you can find at the knowledge base section of M4T.

There is however one missing part: how to include new modded maps in DGen campaigns?

So far we do not know. If you know about programming language, could you have a look at DGen.exe itself? This maybe the critical part to look at.

install jumos skinpacks without markings at least again, it will overwrite the "wrong" skins

Yes, I've done so and now all works fine. Thank You!

To run these DeGen campaigns,do I need anything extra?

does one need these enj. patches and do add-ons need to be purchased to play them?

or can I download it and play it with the 1.o mods and the aircraft involved, all of which I have in my game now.

I've always wanted to play a DeGen campaign, but they seem so complicated to install.
Thanks for any info

Well vtrelut, I could try taking a look at the dgen.exe, but keep in mind that I'm not a pro at programming yet. And, if it's not written in C++, then I'll most likely be totally lost. If it is in C++, maybe I can work my way through it bit by bit and start to figure out how it works, but this will take some time for me. Then again, it may be totally over my head. I'm really a n00b in the programming business, you could say. I know my basics and I'm getting better and better as I practice, but I wouldn't promise you I can just skim through the source coding and read it like a children's book. But, I will take a look at it, and see if I can begin to make sense of it. If I can come up with anything I will let ya know. Maybe there is someone more experienced than me with programming who would know how to do this efficiently (which I suspect there is, lol). If anyone else knows how this works, enlighten us! Wink
