Helicopter's in Il2?
#16

Okay all, I have made a dummy heli based on the Ar-234 model and Lerche FM, I have some movies of it... It works EXACTLY as a Helo

It doesn't have two engines, one engine drives both rotors, just like the way the Wright Flyer powered its two props...

This isn't to be seen or looked at as any similarity to the Osprey, apart from the positioning of the rotors.

You should look at this helicopter as a chinook, since that's the principle they're built up around, with the counter-rotating blades.

You have witnessed my test, right?

ArcticViper how could they have based this on the Chinook?

Chinook came into service for Vietnam.

This heli we are talking about was technically the first to be used in service.

it was used in the Swiss Alps by the germans before suffering an engine problem and crashed killing pilot, copilot, and i think it was 4 wounded men!

no tilt is needed.

Its a heli all we need it to do is go up/down/rotate/left/right/foreward/backward

if you have taken the lerche for a spin than you know that if you have the airbrakes on it lets you do all of that.

preformance?
what preformance? a heli in Il2 would just be an easy target! people who have it will still use it like a lerche!

all in all it could work but i fear that some little kid (immature) will ruin it for all of us. unless it gets its own slot,FM, and no loadout.

Just my point of view

"No Loadout"

You're quite worng. It could carry two 551lbs bombs.

Ok 1st you got to get to the target. Hover over it while it's shooting at you drop ur bomb run like hell and if your lucky u might make it home. Sounds like fun. So really are we making progress on this? I can probably start off making 3D Models of the props and stuff. 2ndly are we going to do the german heli or the american one?

there are targets that aren't shooting but take precise bombdrops.

a heli is very versatile (as we see today) but it has a different spectrum than a fighterbomber. I could imagine lots of interesting and challengiung missions with these guys.

also fly into enemy airspace, drop agents, get them back, recon... stuff like that.

Is it just me or does this Fa223 look like an Arado 234 without wings?

Idea You could try making a engineless he-111 and stick two lerches wihout cocpits or tails to the he-111! :!: :?:

P.S It would need a airbrake or it couldn't land too good and give the rotors only one proppeler

As I said it is possible...

so why don;t we get to work? assign me some thing ill do it

i think that this is a great idea, especially since the fa223 actually saw service! it would be an excellent plane to fly and hsoot down!
