Not true I got a nvidia GE 8800 i believe and it runs smothly on the default perfect settings and when I used IL-2 stab it sadly only slows on the best water setting. Only time my card slows down is with me is when there is more then 50 planes on there.
plus i paid only 90 for it (US currency)

I dont think you know why there is an issue of low FPS when on water

This is not the card! its the poor driver support!

Thanks for your replies, I was worried having only 420watts power supply would limit a decent card i'll have a scout around on ebay for a 8800gt or gts.

Thanks again ross

ATI 4780X2 Simply the big boy now! Hands down NO ONE (read nVidea) can beat it! That x2 means 2 gpu's on one card! Less than 500 us

420 watts isn't much these days, you may find that you will have to upgrade that PSU.

Nvidia 295 is the most powerful VGA in the market nowadays. It's out and available in shops and through internet stores.

See this just show that no matter how much you think you know there's always someone out willing to prove you wrong! LOL! Yeps, look at some reviews and in some games its fast but one review did say that for Far Cry 2 ATI sitll out performs the 295. It was at the higher rezo's larger than 1680x150 or something like that.
