I was wondering if any of the seaplanes in il2 have ever had mods to put wheels on some seaplanes. ?


I do know the the catalina naval aircraft had wheels for landing at one time.

but i dont know about others.

there are no amphibians currently in the game. to be honest, i don't know if the game engine would support amphibious AC.

You can land seaplanes on runways, I know its not the same without wheels, but its actually easier than landing them on water. Anyway, here are some pictures a mate of mine took out at Ardmore, south Auckland, last week. I'm going to see if we can organize a flight in it soon & take some more pic's & perhaps some video clips

The Walrus model I am currently working on will have a folding undercarriage.
Don't know if it will work. If it doesn't then I'll just fix it in the up position.

The first planes to be strafed in Pearl Harbor where PBY's sitting on the tarmac, with wheels. I don't see why the game wouldn't allow it, BTW. Just have float objects AND wheel objects.

Mabye the wheels can be manual raise/lower and the floating bouies can be automatic raise/lower gear?

Actually, I think i've put PBN's taking off on airfields before, and they spawned lined up on the runway... That's just from memory though, not 100%.

.... The issue is with the landing gear... not the placement on a runway...
