Don't get this Card because it cause Il2 to CTD ALOT!!!

I had the card for a while and updated it regularly with no problem then the latest update Completly F***ed my card over as the driver didn't delete the previous *.sys files only made another! Might not be just a card problem but it has not happened with my new one yet Big Grin

I've had the 8800 GTS 320mb for over a year now with no problems..
I've never bothered going looking for the latest and greatest drivers either

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this sounds a lot like Operator Headspace and Timing error.

Any tech worth a darn would have told you to completely delete the old drivers first (ie. use Driver Cleaner Pro). That will remove ALL instances of the old drivers.

Then you install the old drivers. Plus, it's not the card. By your own post, you said that the problems started after the last update you made. That means it's drivers, not hardware.

Drivers = Software
Card = Hardware

I had that v/card from more than a year and I had no problems till now and I have the latest drivers installed, so I think that or You have a faulty card or You mada something wrong with the drivers install (more probable)

Me Wrote:you mean Custom firmware. Custom firmware/bios is file on a chip that tells something to do something else. In this case in a videocard the Firmware/bios tells it to toggle speed depending on load/heat. It also tells the computer what it is, communicates with other hardware.

I flashed my video card with my own firmware. On it i did my own clocks and voltages as well as timeing. My Video Card is = to a 88GTX, yes it gets hot but not enough to kill it.

is where you get a firmware of ur choice.

edits the bios you have or downloaded, swap clocks and you get more performance but a bit more heat.

this is the tool to flash your bios. You can only use DOS. This tool doesn't work in windows.

You will need to find instructions to do this. "Do this at your own risk"

I have the 8800 GTS OC 512mb version and it is excellent, it is the latest drivers that has messed you up, i had similar problems with the latest drivers which caused GPU crashes, i contacted Nvidia support ad they told me that many users are having problems with this latest update and advised me to get the second latest one, the one just before and it works better than ever.
