Something strange on LW10 server.

Ok. I know this is not about the AAA server, but I guess its more of a general question.

This was on the Italy/Africa/Greece map set up by LW10.

When flying last night ship targets were missing from the map and I was apparently attacked by an invisible aircraft, but took no damage. In cockpit sounds picked up firing and hits on the aircraft but there was no enemy to be seen and the AI gunner in the Ju87 did not react. I had saved the track. Playing the track afterwards the missing ship targets were now visible but the "attacker" was not there any more. I could now visually check the aircraft and could see that no damage appeared.

The ship targets which I was aiming for was a large fleet of merchants plus a carrier. When online only two were visible but later viewing the track they were all there.

Is this an example of sychronisation problems?

it's more likely that you were attacked by a new slot aircraft which you don't have installed...

ask on the server if there are new slot planes available, and/or check the new aircraft download section.

he needs to read the brief it is specific in what you need from AAA site to run that map.

Yes. I only thought to install new aircraft I might want to fly. Never thought about the attackers

-- But wouldn't the AI rear gunner still react, even if the aircraft was not visible on screen. -- and what about the missing ships?

Anyway --- advice accepted. I will install the missing elements and see if I have any further problems. Thanks for responding.

the missing ships... no idea...

I've had similar problems with seeing tracers from time to time, and I'd see tracers clearly if I'd replay a track...

As for the gunner, he can only see what you see and therefore will not fire on your end.
I have, however, encountered planes I know don't have my particular plane, engaged it, done more or less no damage to it as is to be expected... But the catch was that his gunner fired at me on my end, and damaged my plane...

Do everyone a favor, and get yourself the required plane(s) it's much more fun

I've downloaded and installed the extra aircraft so I shouldn't have the problem again on the LW10 server, -- but I guess the same problem will exist on the AAA server if new slot aircraft are enabled but some flyers don't have the full aircraft set?

It can also just be a different version..
I had the 2.5 version of the Spit Mk 1 installed (I like the ability to open the canopy.. Im not anal about it having to have the right cockpit, so I never upgraded)..

But I couldnt see spit Mk 1s in the server because I didnt have the new version (aircraft apparently changed its name in one of the newer releases)

I dont believe they have any of the "ship packs" installed... as I was able to see them just fine.. but that could have changed recently but would be mentioned on the site.

For some reason I am unable to move the rear gunner and look around with my mouse in the BF-110 (after joining the LW10 server)....and I was also unable to fire the rear gun on the BF-110 (even though I could jump into the rear-gunners position).

Is there some kind of bug that prevents the rear gunner from being able to be fully controlled by human pilots :?:

Doesn't really belong here (AAA section) or on this forum for that matter... it's pretty much a matter of not knowing the effects of new slot AC.

Moved to HQ - trying to clean up this mess...
