Helicopters in IL-2???
#1

Hey guys,

yesterday I looked on LuftArchiv.de and I found some pictures of helicopters having been used in Second World War.

Now my question: Does anybody want to build these helicopters for IL-2?

I think it would also be funny to have stuff like that in the game.^^

Regards

Beule ^^

Well, according that lerche is almost a helicopter,
You could make a model with blades and shiz, and just give it lerche's airbrake flight model.

Hello,

We also miss Airboats/Zeppelins (in French they say "Dirigeables")..I know Germans had some for observation and maybe for bombing? It would be fun to be able to strafe them and see huge helium explosions...(I have nothing against German airboats please note...)
I think that historically they were a major component of WWII (and WWI) even though we didn't hear much about them. The reason was that thay were quite unstable and could catch fire veray easily . A fioghter aircrfat could very easily shoo them down because of their slow speed and vulnerability (size).

We have obervations balloons and barrage balloons the Il-2 that blow up quite nicely, but they are not airboats/zeppelins (by the way what about Led Zeppelin? Just kidding: my favourite rock band of all times)

The problem is that they steer and move quite differently from an aircraft.

In the state of mind, Monfgolfieres would be great (used a lot in WWII for observation)!

Good day.

While I would love to have a Zeppelin, they didn't saw action in WWII.
The only mission of the two operative Zeppelins was to make some recon after the invasion of Poland, then they were dismanteled for the iron and other materials.

Good day.

Helium does not explode. Hydrogen does.

Next to that, Montgolfiers? In WWII? Weren't those the first hot-air balloons, from the Napoleon era?

Slow.
