D3A "Val" Gun/bombsight problem?
#1

Hi guys, I'm hoping there is an easy answer to this, but, when flying the Japanese "Val," when I want to look through the bomb/gunsight, it seems to be blocked or covered over as I can see nothing in it but black!

Is there a key setup somewhere that I need to do/enable to "uncover" the sight? It almost seems as if there's a handle you have to pull on the sight itself to uncover it, unless I'm just looking at something wrong...

Any help would be immensely appreciated as it's next to impossible to divebomb with any accuracy!

Thanks mucho in advance if someone knows about the solution to this problem...

Ctrl+D by default m8 to open and close the reticle dimmer.
The D3A isnt the only plane using that type of gunsight , there are some more like Ki-43 older versions.

Now, one last ? for the D3A. When I have a single centerline bomb, I can drop it, no prob. However, whenever I carry a centerline and two smaller wingmounted bombs, the button that formerly let me drop the centerline bomb will now only let me drop the smaller wing bombs! HUH?!?

Any ideas? I've tried setting keys on my k'board and on my joystick to weapons slots 3 & 4, (which is what I assume is for the bombs), but the best I can do is only drop those wing mounted bombs! Ok, I know I'm an idiot so far when it comes to Vals, but anybody have any clues?

Yeah, its a stupid bug, when you have unlimited ammo, you can only drop outer bombs because they drop first with limited ammo. Limited ammo will help ya.

On the Val, when you hit your bomb release, first the out board (Wing) carried stores will drop first. When you hit your bomb release for the second time, you center line store will drop. If only your wing mounted stores are dropping it could be that you have "Unlimited ammo" set to "Enabled". This would caus you wing mounted bombs to reapear shortly after you drop them.

Hope that helps.
