Ahem...
Is it possible to do:
1) Realistic physics, like engine torque plus propwash, etc.?
2) Systems modelling besides of pressing "I" for starting everything?
...within the confines of the IL-2 engine as it currently stands?
Just asking, mind.
changing flight model of stock planes is not allowed here...
if you search realism, play old good Bob2 Wings of Victory, i prefer this game to il2.
IMHO, BoB2 WoV has more realistic FM and effects.

pressing 'i' to start everything: doesn't work on some of the bombers -- i did a bob map online, started on the ground at an airfield. Both the He111 and Bristol Blenheims didn't start by pressing 'i'. I'm fairly sure that the tb3 doesn't either.
Annoying the annoying, so you don't have to.

I do. I'm not that daft!

He means you have to map a seperate key for each engine, select the appropriate engine, then start it, switch to the next and repeat etc.. finaly, then select 'all engines' and you have control of the lot..
I think prop wash is already modeled, because I have had so many moments where a plane just whizzes by me about 10 cm away from my plane, and my plane gets very turbulent, without me pulling and maneuvers.
I've never witnessed prop wash, I've tried coming up to the tail of large bombers and I get nothing.
I dunno what you'd expect to feel?
There is no propwash modelled in il2. Shame that Oleg missed such an important thing. And modelling the turbulent flow behind the plane with AAA own forces will affect the ingame dogfighting very much, such modding is forbidden (even if possible) here, like FM changing.
i think the IL2 designers really missed lots of things that would be in real life, true
but adding things like new phisics i think is not fair to everyone as some would have different flight experience then another. could even be as bad that one of the 2 had an advantage
