I'm going to have to retire...
#1

..from any more modding at the moment.
I have too much other work.
I was recently involved in doing missions and video tutorials for the new tank sim Steel Fury -Kharkov 1942..
I recently had a new 500gb HDD go tits-up...but was able to save the important data to a new 750gb HDD (server model...twice as expensive as the normal ones)
My 750gb HDD died yesterday and I lost almost everything... except my patience.

If anyone wants to contiunue work on my Burma map they are welcome...and I still have the Northern half if that is wanted...but it has had no work done upon it yet..

I'll be looking in occasionally to see what's new..

So sorry mate : (
I hope you can find a good technician with skills good enough to save/recovery some data in your 750gb.

I wish you back ASAP.

Best wishes,

Yeah, take it easy, fred, this modding business does take up an unbelievable amount of time.
I'm glad you said 'going to have to' retire, and not 'want to' retire, anyway...
Steel Fury looks pretty impressive, I played a rough demo nearly a year ago, and it looks promising. I've also recently got into TOW (Theatre of War), which has some uncanny similarities to IL2, and dreaming of the day we might have a combined flight/land/sea combat sim, incorporating everything a la BF1942, just with the fidelity of IL2 (or better) Big Grin . Full real ballistics, movement...ahhhh, I can dream... Big Grin 8)

cheers

Fabian Fred

You don't know me as I am a fairly new member. My main interest has always been the FMB for me with IL2 and I have read many threads and posts of yours that have been very informative and helpfull for me as well as interesting.I have downloaded your files and maps as well as read some of your PDF's and have tried to absorb as much as I could of the wealth of info and knowledge you have shared in amongst the post and threads of AAA.

I truly appreciated all you have accomplished and shared here at AAA and I would just like to say,
thank you very much
