Thanx a lot mate! But the think I don't understand is when start the game shure I start the SST program too or the Joy will show the options ingame? I mean ...so if I make all the options in the SST program and save the profile then I can use those options without to touch anything in the game menu, right?
You can set the X-52 to the keyboard controls by opening the "Controls" button on the main GUI, then clicking on the default key setting and then pressing the button or moving an axis on the HOTAS that you want to operate that function. You will see something like
Flaps Down- - - - Joystick Button 23/V where 'V' is the keyboard default.
However...you cannot use the Mode funcction on the joystick. It will set just one "Mode" and others will do nothing. To get the full functionality of the X-52 you will need to download and install the SST Software as stated by Tommy544. I recommend you do that because then you can have just about every keyboard function mapped to the HOTAS and put the keyboard away.
I personally use the Modes as follows:
Mode 1- Service. All the functions necessary for taking off, landing or making engine management changes in flight.
Mode 2- Fighter. Every function needed to operate a fighter in a combat situation. Some engine management controls and radio controls are duplicated here.
Mode 3- Bomber. Every function needed to operate a bomber. Again some engine management functions, radio controls and trim functions are duplicated here as well. For level bombing this keeps all the bombsight controls at your fingertips which is very handy.
There are also some good profiles available at the Saitek site that can help get you started. You probably would want to make a few changes to suit your flying style.
As for the profile(s) you create, yes, start the SST before starting the game. You can even have different profiles for different types of planes.
Hope this helps.
The problem why you cant open those profiles is, that people who were doing that profile are using a different version of SST. Did you install your SST from the CD or did you download a new one from the saitek webpage?
I was a little angry when I realised that I have to make my profile again after updating driver and SST. So if you didn't make your profile yet, then maybe it is a good idea to update first...
And also one of the main features of X52 Pro is it's MFD (multi functional display). I have downloaded that one plug-in which is on the saitek forum but it is not showing so many entrys as I'd like to.
Do anyone have a better plug-in for MFD?
Hmm, have you selected your created profile in that icon in the taskbar in the right low corner of the screen? Is the name of your profile displayed on the display? And also you can try if the problem is in somewhere in sturmovik or in joystick: set to one of the buttons for example a key "a", then open a text file and try to click that button if it will write a letter "a". You also have on your throtle a little stick, which should work as a mouse, is it working?
