Tracks don't match flight...
#1

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this an AAA related situation (I think I saw it happen once before loading the AAA mod installer last Friday) so thought I'd put it here instead of in the bug report thread.

When I tell it to save a track at the end of a mission, or if I do a quick and tell it to record, they no longer show what really occured on the flight. It's the same situation, and seems like it will go along for a bit, then it's like it just gets weird, shows me firing at nothing and usually dieing a nasty death when in reality I made it back (or not, just different), before it goes off into it's own thing.

First time or two I thought maybe I'd done something, but I've checked and it's every time and really annoying. Just had a great (hairy) mission and can't watch it...

If this isn't something that's like, "Oh, yeah, that happens, here's the fix." I was thinking I'd just reinstall IL2.

So, here's a couple of questions:

I own both the "direct to disk" down-loaded version of IL2 '46 (that's the one that's loaded now, and yes, I followed the instructions and put in the fix required for that version before loading AAA) and I bought the IL '46 on disk recently (got a good price). Which one should I use?

As far as mods go, I only have AAA loaded in with 6DOF, and Straight from the Farm and Enterprise campaigns, and I wouldn't mind starting them over again. Are there any folders/files I should (can) save? I've got the graphics set up in the config.ini for a great look and controls the way I like them, but could redo them as well if that's best...

what's the order of install for what I need to install?

thanks in advance,

Rabble

Thats an old problem. Its happened to me for years, Im sure its not mod related.
Inever did figure out what causes it.
Maybee someone else does.

Did you use Time Compression while recording the track? In my experience that is the main culprit.

Nope, I don't use time compression while flying, just sometimes while doing a playback of a track, but use it or not on playback it doesn't match flight.

what's weird is that I've use recorded tracks a lot, I found them to be really good training aids when I was first starting and they were always just as I flew them.

didn't use them much for a while, and now problems.

for a reload, is there a concensus on whether to go with the direct to disk version or the cd?

thanks,

Hi,

*.trk files as tracks will do that on occaision (old game issue). Use the start/stop recording command to record *.ntrk instead. You might have to set up a button in your controls to do this. Files will be saved as Quick00.ntrk...Quick01.ntrk...etc. and will remain accurate.
