Redleg Wrote:Looked beautiful, but if memory serves correct, didn't the Germans loose 25% of their attack force to friendly AAA fire on the way in and once on their runs they got pounced on by P47's and P51's, (Legend of Y29)?
Well, in Il-2 friendly AAA does not shot own planes.
Anyway, in this mission there were flack in every bridge, road, and all along the frontline. In some scenes you can see it for a while.
Legend of Y-29 only depicts one of the dozen fields attacked and taken from only one side, as well in this mission there were only 4 allied fields in the map. Allied planes in every field were historically accurate, but to be a surprise attack as it was in reality, no ally knew it was Bodenplattte, so they flew what they wanted. Lots of Spits, some Tempest, and less P-47 and P-51. Some even succeeded in bombing our bases with B-25 and A-20...
It were 3 very intense hours, this video is only a choice of best moments, but there were so much kills, straffes (I hate "vulching" gaming word), belly landings, captures, and actions of all kinds. Some of them could not be captured due to corrupted tracks with strange plane movements.
