Perfect Problem
#1

Hi all,

I,m having a very frustrating problem trying to access 'perfect mode' i've been all round the forums reading everything i can on the subject, trying all sorts of advice and setups and taken everything on board, the game is running in open gl, stencil buffer on, tex compression = none, in the nvidea control panel the extension limit is off, triple buffering is on and threaded optimization is on. I'm using a geforce 9800gtx, intel duel core with 4gb ram and a foxconn p35a motherboard. Should this run perfect mode? if not could you tell me please where to spend my money, i've just downloaded fresh open gl32dll but not sure which path to extract to, any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Check your conf.ini file in the root directory of IL-2 and make sure the under the Open GL section the HardwareShaders is set to 1.

This will enable you to use perfect mode. You must be using the game in OpenGL settings though. DirectX graphics mode will not do Perfect.

Ok i,ve narrowed the problem down a bit, with everything set up correctly i then go into the game to find i still cant get perfect mode, when i go back and check my confi ini i find that Hardware shaders =1 has set itself back to =0 even though everything else i tweaked remains the same. I tried using il-2 manager with hardwrae shaders on and find exactly the same thing, that it reverts back to off when i go into the game. Any ideas why this could be? Any help would be welcome because the only way i can get relistic water on screen at the moment is to sit out in the rain and play it, thats not ideal and causes the old pc to spark a bit. Cheers

After making your changes in conf.ini, right click and select properties and change it's attributes to read only. That will stop the game from resetting it, it may not run though Cry Can you post your conf.ini here, there may be some little thing we've overlooked.

Cheers

Check your Nvidia Control Pannel and make sure of your settings.
You probably have the card taking over from the game.

If you write down all your settings you currently have in Nvidia Control Pannel, I'll run thru it for you.
