Hi Bearcat,

I had the same idea in 2006 when they introduced me to the game.

Since I don't have any substantial knowledge in MODs, I wrote an application in VBA (embedded in excell) to get the output for MLR (mission log reader) and process it apart. There I handled our different scoring system and point system.

The basic idea is to read the eventlog and compose a database from it. Then you could do the number crunching with it. We flew only coop at the time and my routine was addressed at this type of game.

My idea was not knew and there is better software around that work coop and dogfight as well.

Are you familiar with FBDj?

That's what Warbirds of Prey site use for it's stats.

Does it work with 4.09 or just 4.08?

I haven't read the whole thread but I am replying to the author. I recommend getting in contact with [RS]Pappy, he can be reached at www.uslglobal.com

He has written a parser that will read the daemon for destroyed objects and apply points for them - you will not see the points in game but afterwards. Basically any object that is destroyable can have custom points assigned to it, and you can even award point for items not destroyed thus allowing protection of targets as part of a mission. This is basically in test and has been for a good while, it is used against the USL scoring as part of the testing and Saturday Fight Nights (SNF) and it is planned to use it for future USL seasons. It is used in dogfight maps.

You'll need to register at the website and I suggest you PM him, and if you like it perhaps make a donation to the USL upkeep Wink

Good luck.

I wholeheartedly agree that this should (have been) be incorporated into the FMB and any DGen or DCG applications. I think if anyone could tackle this it would alter the whole nature of interaction most especiallyin online play as you have already noted.
I really hope someone will pick up on this - I hope this thread is not too old.

Yes, the in-game scoring system sucks, and is especially unsuitable for squad v squad matches.

We've just installed the United Squadron's League scoring system on our _AUS_Nations@War server in hyperlobby. The USl uses a parser program designed by the ever-talented [MAG]Pappy for point scoring. Individual points can be set for each game object (planes, ships, ground objects), and points are scored when the object is destroyed irrespective of whether the pilot makes it back to base or not. Individual & team scores can be called up at any time during a game using the chat bar.

The _AUS_Nations@War server currently has rolling 1hr USL missions so players can see what I mean.
