I placed this file into the directory mentioned above, overwrote the one that was in there already and the sound hasn't changed a single tiny bit.

Is there any reason for this? Is it at all dependent on certain other settings? I've had a similar problem with another sound fil released by someone else for the landing gear. Any help is appreciated,
