those are strange aircraft indeed, but let me ask you this; If you could assemble the resources necessary to implement those AC into the sim, would you aim those resources at these one of kind and fantasy AC or aim those resources towards a widely used AC that is still missing in the sim?

Only with the ju 635 i'm not sure if there existet an prototype, but for all the others there existed one.

the 287 was only a proof of concept aircraft and was a hybrid of many aircraft, including nose wheels taken from a Liberator. the projected production 287 was very different .

look, in the nicest possible way, 3dwa21.. You keep making requests for various aircraft. If you're so desperate to get so many aircraft in, perhaps you should learn how to create aircraft for yourself as most modders are already working on lots of projects and aren't likely to start working on aircraft just for you, especially the strange / obscure / what if planes.

Annoying the annoying, so you don't have to.

If I may add something:

1st - while it might be interesting to include some planned LW AC's, it might be only fair to include allied X-AC's as well.
But who's there to fulfill all these requests? I'm amongst the first, who likes to test-fly all the BMW and Focke projects,
as well as the XB-35 and XP-49 (?).
But I must absolutely agree to the posts above; modelling an AC is frakking difficult enough, compiling it to work with an existing FM is a heck lot more work; creating a new FM is something for math profs!

I've tried my way through 3DSmax and I've failed utterly. My guess is, I would've succeeded, if I contributed more time and endurance/patience. Time is a major problem, as my job and real life are asking, as they are consuming most of my energy. What's left, I divert to my woman and our welfare.

This might be an example about what the AAA modellers have to accomplish, living through their everyday life AND STILL having the energy and will to conclude their work.

Always bear that in mind!

2nd - there are the Do-335 the "Lerche", the Ta-183, the Go-229, the BI's, the Yak-15, the MiG-9, etc., etc., etc.

Ain't that enough for a start?

Start to master these and then perhaps AAA ModMasters will be on hand with newer mods for you to play with!
I see, that this new F-86 is one heck of a model, but so far it's only based on the YP-80.
What would be the use of new AC models if they use the same old FM's?
"Waahh, coool da see'em flyyye!" couldn't be possibly be the answer. This isn't Kindergarten, ain't it?!

I like the F-86 mod, great and near perfect work, but only "near" perfect, until the new FM is added.

I don't need new new AC models, if they're only based on existing FM's.
But creating new those FM's... see above.

Please, don't take offense by this, but stay on the ground, will ya?!

Try even 3D modelling. Its a big help for modders that they dont have to spend lots of time with 3D.

i am not a fan of "what-if" planes and i myself do not request aircraft but there has been complaints about people posting requests for aircraft in this secton. Can someone clarify where and if requests are allowed to be posted to avoid further trouble

MODS discussion is the correct section here, i believe (or possibly spray and pray);

there's nothing to stop you going right ahead and posting requests. Feel free.

Some people simply find it a bit rude to keep putting up various requests for various aircraft given that it takes a lot of time and effort to even create the basic model and then you have skins and FM and Damage Model and damage textures and weapons and sounds and... etc etc, especially if you're simply asking for an aircraft and not really able or willing to help (or try yourself).

Some modders also find it slightly annoying when they get multiple "build this, i want to fly it!" requests for pretty much the same reasons. And of course since there are not many people with the skills to mod properly, most have many mod projects going at once. These mods are made at the good will of modders and in thier own time while they deal with life on top of it all; they then release the mods for free to the community. Sometimes the requests they get make them feel that people are either taking the modders for granted (especially if the request takes the line of "i think these planes should be in the game") or don't really understand just how much effort goes into even a relatively well documented aircraft with an abundance of sources to give info and make the plane accurate.

You're welcome to request and if you're polite and don't make repeated or difficult requests you shouldn't get any hostility at all. Of course, modders tend to do the stuff that interests them -- you can air the idea of yours, but whether it'll get further than your request thread depends on the modders...

Annoying the annoying, so you don't have to.

Same advice as Thrud... I see absolutely no interest in what-if planes... it would be much more interesting, in a first step, to have appropriate cockpits for the already existing planes (a missing one is the Fi-156 Storch, for example)... then, to have planes that really saw action during WW2 (aaaaaaaaah... a Bf109-B or D... or a B-26 Marauder... my dreams !!!).

But first of all, a huge THANK YOU to all the modders of this brilliant community : they have opened so much new possibilities to this sim !!!

Avoir la foi, c'est être plus sûr d'une chose que la raison ne le permet.

Requests are fine, but there is a huge range of WIP threads already going and among them a massive backlog of necessary inclusions for a historic WW2 sim. For example there is still a number of cockpits awaiting attention due to the All Aircraft Flyables Mod, you could spend years of tedium just doing those (and warm kudos to Ranwers for the awesome work he's been doing achieving just that along with some great historic plane additions like the P-24 and Fairey Battle).

There are a lot of refinements to existing aircraft, from Me109s to Thunderbolts and Mustangs. The Griffon Spits have been requested since day one and have just seen the light of day, I can only imagine the amount of work involved and it will continue as minor bugs are discovered/fixed. The Whirlwind, the Hornet. Later model Corsair (nightfighter and F4U-5 variants), the Sea Fury. People want hotrods that were built like the P-51H Mustang and P-47M. There is game balance to consider and the Ta152C and H which were also built but needed an historic expansion and refinement without stepping into "Fantasy-Waffe" or "Paper-Waffe" territory like the Lerche, Ta183 and worse. The Go229 requires the same treatment as it was flown very successfully and technically entered production; which the He162 "carbon-fibre version" doesn't deserve. Luftwaffe needs the He177 and Ju290.

The Japanese planes have been screaming for attention. Pacific Fighters has been largely passed by but there is plenty of interest there, and a few modders working hard to refine those such as the great work done on small visual bugs for the A6M series. The N1K is getting attention. People have been asking for the Ki44. The P-40E and M need refinements, there are the Rolls Royce versions and the N variant to make. The Hawk needs its own cockpit. The Buffalo could use some expansion/refinement. Cyclone engine F4F-3s could be made (Martlet MkI). Earlier model Lightnings for Europe and the British version without turbochargers.

We don't even have a MkII Spit or a proper RAF MkI Hurricane hosted by AAA yet. Or the Yak-9DD, the Yak-UTI trainer. What about the poor Frenchies? D-520 is conspicuously missing, some Potez and Amiot medium attack aircraft and bombers. There still isn't a proper bubble canopy Spit and people are going to start requesting the Mk21 in droves. Hawker Typhoon still needs an FM. There is the Hurricane MkIV with the "universal wing." The Beaufort. The Boulton Paul Defiant. Dornier Do17/217 and Do18/24 and Blohm and Voss Bv138. The Wiking, Short Sunderland, Supermarine Walrus, Martin Mariner, Kawanishi H6K. Heinkell He115. N1K seaplane needs an FM and a new slot. Italians need half a dozen new planes.

Ships for Pacific Fighters as well as western Europe are strongly wanted by all. More accurate USN Battleships, additional IJN carriers and more historic looking battleships and heavy cruisers, the IJN desperately needs their huge cruiser subs. A QE class battleship would be nice, also British cruisers, early carriers, converted escort carrier, CAM ships. The Kreigsmarine needs cruisers and destroyers, like an Emden class, Admiral Hipper, Scharnhorst and pocket battleship, a Type IX sub would be nice.

A few new vehicles and artillery pieces, particularly coastal defence and heavy emplacements would really expand historical mission building.

Speaking for myself, "what if" planes are way down the list of luxuries. I'd only begin to examine them in the event postwar Allied a/c mods are unbalancing the AAA mod sim, to provide a more fair but reasonable 1946 environment. Fixed German jet reliability would be higher on the list of priorities there however, as the 1946 campaign states a continued industrial and import capacity for Germany which is the only reason substandard materials were used in jet engine manufacture, engines which operate with excellent reliability when rebuilt by the Russians postwar for example. So I'd go new slot Me262 and Go229 well before drawing board what ifs.
