As seeing as a lot of my old tutorials are still being used to this day, I was wondering if anyone was interested in me doing a series of video tutorials covering how to efficiently model aircraft in 3DS Max?
These tutorials will be for people who already know the interface, so basic knowledge is a must. Max is such a complex program, that there is no way I could train people how to use it through a few short tutorials.
With that said, is there any spacific area's about aircraft modeling that you guys would like help on?
yes, we really like that(i think), maybe that some of us can learn 3d moddeling, so that we have more 3d modders?
sorry if my english is bad
That would be brilliant mate, seem to be learning how to make aircraft the hard way at the minute
Will think of a few things and add them
Sounds like a great idea... I'm sure many people could benefit from them. I know I would.
OK. I will make a few video tutorials showing easy ways of modeling complex things, like wing fillet, wing tips, and props. These things took me forever to figure out how to do them, and I have some very simple tricks to making those things on a matter of minutes with very little effort. Any other things you guys would like to see explained? My layout tutorial is still up in the tutorial section and it has the body modeling in it.
Maybe I will go over proper boolien, since I know for a FACT that it baffles most new modelers.
Yes with out a doubt. It would greatly help a lot of us who like to help in getting the planes done and in the game...Kudos to you
What about a cockpit tutorial.
The biggest problem with a cockpit tutorial, is that a cockpit is nothing more then a collection of very small parts. Each part is modeled in its own way.
The hardest part about the pit, is making what I call the "tub" or the area that the cockpit is built IN, the cockpit walls. Even this varries from each aircraft. You have the Hurricane, that consist's of nothing but pipes, or the P-38 that has a lot of walls. I will see what I can do. Takes me 2 second to model a seat, so I can show how to do that quickly.
I think my first tutorial will be a wing tutorial. In this, I can also explain smoothing groups, since its CRITICAL on. The biggest "n00b" error I see in most models is the black/dark area on the aft section of the wing, caused by bad smoothing groups. Also, how to make a good wing tip helps a lot of people.
Yea well im doing a hurricane like type of cockpit now. And i really want to see if there;s a more efficient way of doing it then the way i am doing it now.
