question about SoundFlags.forceEAX1 in conf.ini
#1

Hi,
I set SoundFlags.forceEAX1 to '1' in conf.ini.
then, internal cockpit engine sound tone changed and becomes thick.
this unbalanced engine sound make me feel giddy. very serious.

however, I should set this flag by '1'.
(because this flag setting make internal gun sound same with external sound.)
Is there a way to recover orignal engine sound (this means unified installer mod sound)
under the condition of SoundFlags.forceEAX1 =1?
(plane is Bf109G6)

I use EAX1 forced in my config also but I have a very good set of headphones and an excellent soundcard, so it sounds great for me. Actually the sound is just about my favourite part of il2.

Here's the thing about tuning the sound settings. It depends on your system hardware, software and personal tastes. There are a variety of different soundmods and custom alterations plastered all over the site to cater to different tastes. Keep in mind the original sound engine in il2 was created in the days when "quadrophonic" was big news in desktop speakers. Plus your EAX virtual sound software is probably a much later version than the EAX around back then.
Best bet is to write down your system specs, paying attention to everything related to sound and hope someone else on the boards has a similar il2 installation and specs to yours, and find out what they've found works best.
