[MOD] Spookie's Default Markings

JG54Spookie Wrote:Ah, now I see what you were talking about. The file from McWolf is a ".7z" extension. This is a form of compression like a .zip or .rar file and you need to extract it first. I'm not sure why he used that format instead of a .rar file, but a program such as WinRar will extract the the files for you.
7z is the compression used by the open source packer/unpacker programme 7zip. You can get it here:

Great mod 8) . But gotta ask.
Did you make the national insignias your self or did you use some ones national insignia templates?

Hi JG54Spookie,
Nice work, much better template than mine, what I did are from default ones, too lazy :? to make all new by myself, and didn't find good qualified template at that time. Keep up your great work! 8)
Re 7zip, it's open source software, and I think it's simple and high compress rate than WinRAR and WinZip, much convenience to extract some file to certain folder.

1/2 = Windows XP 32Bit / Vista or Windows7 32Bit
3 = Windows XP64Bit / Vista or Windows7 64Bit
Forget 4 and beyond.

I'm running windows XP 32 bit, so that means I would need 1 AND 2?

I did, in fact, make all the national markings myself. Most of them were made in a 600x600 in a vector format, and I simply reduced them to fit into a second PSD that is the correct size for the targas used by the game. I did use some of Ace's markings as sort of a guide for border widths on the insignia for which I couldn't find actual proportion guides.

Thanks McWolf. All I did was make some textures, though. Many thanks to you for actually putting together the mod.

Jolly good show Spookie 8) .
Reason I asked, is that many people forget to credit the markings/insignia authors.
And we do use a lot of times to create those templates.

Cheers Smile

No, just get the "executable" (1).

(.msi is a "windows installer file". Should work fine, but the exe type is used more often and less confusing)

THANK YOU Sirs.

Okay, I got it working. I still think there has to be a way to at least reposition the numbers on the American P-51 and P-47, moving up from where it is now. I just don't know how. No experience with this stuff.
