Good luck getting someone to help you, all I can say is that there is a 1% chance of anyone here helping you with this.

Wow... that's a considerable amount of work.

Firstly, that is Star Wars and some of them look nothing like the planes you have chosen and even the closest ones would still make it weird. Even if I did a skin for it on somewhere it would look nothing like it. There is no point.....

agreed...itd be like trying to make a 109 look like...a shoe...or something completely arbitrary. cuz it wouldnt look right no matter how good of a skinner you are.

"uhm the shoe laces are in the wrong spot"

"well where the hell do you want me to put em!?"

Tongue

actually a better analogy would be like a halloween costume. you know those people who dress up as...something completely arbitrary....so they have every single person coming up to them at the party "what are u supposed to be?". LOL

the point is...you can do these skins on these aircraft...but you wouldnt know thats what they were supposed to be.

...And it's rogue sq, not rouge sq.

...And do you build the death star for that campaign?

No. I don't, the campagne would take place about 10 to 20 Years after the Battle of Yavin. (1st Deathstar destroyed)

the campaign better have a pretty damn good in depth storyline to explain why they are all downgrading to 1940s era aircraft... Big Grin

Your choice of aircraft doesn't exactly match the compaired characteristics of the SW fighters. Here's how I'd have done it :

A-wing : Spit Vb / P-40b
B-wing : Any Allied fighter with bombs from before 1941.
Y-Wing : Hurricane IIb
X-Wing : Spit I / P-36
Z-95 : Gladiator / Hurricane I

TIE Fighter : I-153
TIE Interceptor : I-16
TIE Bomber : Il-2 early single seat
TIE Defender : Lagg-3 / early Mig 3
(alternatively, but not as good IMO, equivalent Japanese types :
Ki-27 / A5M Claude
Ki-43
D3A Val (ok rear gunner but...)
A6M2 )

There's much more difference in performance between 1940s planes than there are between SW space ships (long time Rogue Squadron, X Wing vs TIE Fighter and X-Wing alliance experience speaking) so you need to keep the planes selection in a pretty narrow timeline. Besides you need to reflect the fact that :

-Empire uses green lasers, Rebel Alliance uses red ones.
-TIE Fighters have poor armour and great manoevrability.
-TIE Bomber has a limited bombload capacity and no rear gunner.
-The Y-Wing is first and foremost a fighter, used in the attack role becase it's already an aging type by the time of the Battle of Yavin (Clone Wars type). Bombload is also pretty limited.
-B-Wing must be the most advanced plane in the Alliance but not be as good a fighter as the X and A Wings.
-Z-95 is a relic from the Clone Wars but very comparable to the TIE Fighters.
-TIE Interceptor is just a faster, better armed version of the TIE Fighter.
-The X-wing is the symbol of desperate resistance and a iconic plane of the Rebellion. So are the Spit I for the RAF (BoB) and P-36 for the USAAF (Pearl )

And a number of other things... The Millenium Falcon can only be a twin-engined with defensive guns, excellent speed and above average manoevrability for its class. A Beaufighter X or Dinah would be perfect.

But yeah, good luck with finding someone to help you with this.

Firelord Osai Wrote:Yes, you are right. The German in the 2nd WW and the Imperial people from SW has many similarities.

For example the juds in the 2WW are the same as all non-human creatures in SW.

If I were to compare the multi-species Alliance to anything WW2 related it would be the British armed forces with the many 'Internationals' serving under British colours after their home countries were invaded. It was not rare to find Belgians, Canadians, French, Czech and Polish pilots in the same squadron in the RAF in the 1940s. Make them Sullustans, Calamari, Bothans, Wookies and whatnot and you got yourself the Rebel alliance.

The Empire in SW is really and Empire, not a Reich, which also makes them very close to those red jackets and colonial helmets wearing, tea drinking, world colonising Brits from the Victorian era... Big Grin
