Numbers
#1

I had a somewhat half a**ed skinning phase a while back and i want to try my hand again with a bit more effort.

I need some tips as far as doing number markings for non-historical, semi generics.

Like where to find digit packs (and color templates too, Simmerspaintshop comes to mind), what to use with what planes and what countries, how exactly to flip them around for the opposite sides of the plane etc.

I use gimp, with moderate ability
The numbers where the only thing that really gave me trouble in the past.

simmerspaintshop - as you mentioned, is a good source for markings. there are others, like this: http://www.cbrnp.com/decals/index.html - which has markings and profiles.
as for finding out where the markings go on the skin - well, that's where you have to do a bit of work.
load up a skin that has markings, and compare the blank one with it. you'll soon figure out where the markings should go.
good luck! 8)

I could do national symbols well enough. I would just get distracted with the rest.

Found what i needed though. Simmers paint shop is a good site.

Thanks

Cheers
