I was wondering if there was a method available to remove individual aircraft from the quick mission builder listing, so they would not be available for selection from the drop down menu.

Yes

In the air.ini , you need to add "NOQUICK" in the line of the individual aircraft you want to remove from the qmb.
For ex:
Me-262HG-II air.ME_262HGII 2 NOQUICK g01 SUMMER
