[WIP] Fi-103 Manned Buzz Bomb
#1

Here is my headway on the Manned V1.

History: As the battle of britain progressed, it was realized that the V1 was not nearly as accurate as would be nessasary to bring the thousand year old country to its knees. The design was one out of desparation, piloted bombs. The pilots were under orders from Hitler that they were to guide the bomb to target, aim it, and then punch out. This though was nearly impossible as at +800km/h, the sheer amount of wind resistance would hinder the canopy from being opened. And to make matters worse, if the canopy were to be opened, which seldomly occured, the cockpit was directly beneath the pulsejet, which the pilot would have to attempt to not be sucked into. And if the pilot was lucky enough to survive those harrowing pitfalls, there was a final one, he just guided a bomb, to the city he was parachuting onto, and chances are, he was not going to be greeted with a warm meal and a healthy glass of wine. For these reasons, although they went operational, they were seen as second best to the radio controlled Mistel.

(Please note that the ejection seat i am asking about in the pole would be what decides if you get points or not for that run)

What i could use assistance on: Flight Model(and interior and exterior flight control surfaces(elevators; throttle)) and skinning

We want flying bombs! Oh wait , the "Ohka"
#3

My mind's not made up on the Ohka. I hear it had a reputation of being somewhat dangerous to fly...
#4

When you bail from ohka, you just fall trough the floor of the plane...
#5

I dont want an ejection seat that shoots me out like in the jets, but I still want to be able to bail out, at lower speeds.

And I dont want the point system to take away points if I fly myself into the target.

Historical accuracy in the first place.
#8

Will we get the training, landable ( skid ) non explosive version too?
#9

That V1 would be great, and i think you should do with ejection seat. Germany had an ejection seat(developed by Heinkel) and it worked, and if the war would have gone to 1945+ they would have placed ejection seats i think.
#10

The answer to that is no. The skid seen on the Fi-103s was merely to allow it to be dragged during takeoff. But generally, you dont land a bomb.
#11

There wouldn't have been an ejection seat. It was a desperate weapon made by a desperate country. The pilot would have been torn apart by the pulsejet. It was a suicide weapon and that's why it was canceled.
#12

I have read the articles, i know there is no ejection seat, hense the note on top that it would be inaccurate. But in this game, you cant punch out over 600km/h, so it was nesacarry, do not come onto peoples posts like you are, Capiche?
#13

What I was saying is that it should be like the Ohka. There was less than 1% chance of survival for the pilot. It's a suicide weapon and you will lose something by making it a "survivable" weapon. I was simply stating an opinion so back off. Capiche?
#14

Case in point,ITs not the OHKA, and in this game engine, you must survive to get points, now if you continue popping up, just to put this project down, i will ask an admin to kindly show you the door.
#15

I'm not putting this project down in any way. I'm just asking for a bit of historical accuracy. You made it a poll and I gave my opinion and my vote. It was very similar to the Ohka. Less than 1% survival rating basically makes it a suicide weapon. If that notion is too harsh for you, then why did you start the project? It might be a better idea to make it a weapon using the model you have already started for launch off the Ar 234 like it was historically intended insead of making it a piloted plane. Quit being so uber sensitive and relax...
