Sans FOV changer

Can anyone tell me why, when I try to run Sans FOV changer, I get the error message:
"This application failed to start because the Aplication configuration is incorrect" ?
I have the game patched fully, a widescreen monitor and WindowsXP Thanks

I use it from time to time and I must say it is a great addition.

You really get the wide view you should get when you fly in a real cockpit. To set it up don't forget to set up your ip address in the pref.ini. It should be something like 192.168.x.x. This has to replace the ip address which is coming with this mod (if i remember well it was something like 127......)

I had some game crashes though probably as my videocards had to work more than usually. Personally I recommend an FOV of 101. Anything above might be interesting for a test but usually the distortion is to high IMHO.

Definitely a great mod (check San's website on regular base to get the updates).

I don't understand why it would need an IP address......

if I understand it well the FOV changer works through the devicelink connection...so you need to put in your IP to have it work. It is the same for the G15_Il2.exe for the G15 keyboard.

I would like to try this, and I have made all of the changes to the conf and pref files but when I click on the FOV changer .exe I get the error message "The aplication failed to load because the aplication configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this" However, it does not help.

1) I recommend the latest version which is the 1058. You should get it here: http://il2fovchanger.byethost7.com/

2) Then get your internal IP address (start - run -"command" -"ipconfig"). The ipconfig command gets you several ips. Your internal IP is something like 192.168.2.3 Don't use your external Ip , proxy IP or anything else

3)This is the one you have enter and not your external IP or proxy IP.
I modified directly the pref.ini:
101
Z
Q
B
N
1
192.168.1.1 (replace this number with your own IP address!)
1711
36
120
7
5
S
100
D
120
F
135
G
20

4)Next open your conf.ini in the IL1946 folder and add:

[DeviceLink]
port=1711
IP=192.168.1.1 (replace this with your own IP address!)

watch the exact writing (port and not Port!)

You are done! Start the Fov Changer and then start the game. Once the mission starts wait a second and don't touch any FOV command: you will see the FOV changing automatically to your new default FOV. If for any reason it doesn't start or if you modify your view in the game, just hit the start button again ( the key combination you assigned; leftALT Z for me)

By the way, make sure that your firewall doesn't interfer with the port 1711...

Hope this helps,

Cheers

I had a similar problem with last 1058 version and as San pointed to me was the ini file a bit corrupt or altered... I took the ini from 1056 version (parameters were the same) and it worked without problems.

Thank you all.....but still no luck. The fov exe will not execute, just prompts the error message mentioned earlair. I'm thinking it is not meant to be. Thats ok, maybe I will start bringing along a few telephone books to put under my seat.........then my view from the Spit might be wider????

So when I press my J key for 120 field of view with San set up on and running it does just what it is supposed to do..but.. I can see through my wings when I look left or right..cannons look great but perifial is see throgh I can see the ground. When I look to the wingtip I can see them but still a bit of see through close in...any ideas?? :?
