[REQUEST] Mine & time-delayed activation ordinance
#1

Some new aircraft have mine-laying roles viewtopic.php?t=16554 and others were used to drop time-delayed ordinance to incapacitate airfields etc.

Is anyone working on mine or time-delayed ordinance or a mod that will replicate the role of these munitions in warfare? eg mine=bomb is dropped but goes off only when object comes close or hits it; time-delay bombs=bombs are dropped but only explode at pre-determined (or random) times after they land.

The time delay is already available in game. It's on the far right in the Arming screen.

i know what he means, the time delay is only good for 10 seconds. mine ordnance should be able to have delays of hours

what about having a delay that lets bombs air burst?

Set explosion altitude... I like that. Would be very useful for historically airbursting ordnance, especially the nukes.

Maybe not hours, but in the context of a 1 hour mission, say a delay of 1 - 20 minutes.

Mines - Should be proximity activated ie. go off when a moving object is close or hit the spot.

Time-fused ordinance - (1) time delay say 1-20 minutes to explode.
(2) multiple small ordinance with random time delay say 1-20 minutes. This was actually used in WW2 to drop on airfields so the enemy was kept busy trying to clear the airfield of bombs and aircraft could not land or takeoff because they never new when a bomb on the runway would go off.

10 seconds is just to short IMHO i would rather at least 1 min or higher but just what i think

maybe fireball can have a crack at it Tongue
