Hello all, (I apologize if this is in the wrong section, and please move it if it is)

One thing that has always bothered me was that we could get proper squadron codes on the P-51B, but not on any of the other Mustangs or other aircraft for that matter, and even the ones on the B model were either inaccurate or not all squadrons were represented. So my question is has anyone found where these codes are stored in the IL2 program, and can we change and/or add to them. Also can we put them on other aircraft like the P-47 or the B-24 (I think we have them on some of the B-17s, but like the P-51Bs, these are incomplete and/or inaccurate).

I've used this mod before, unfortunately it only works on the P-51B and B-17G. It screws up the P-51C which uses the same codes. It makes the P-51B look good and helps with the B-17G, but that is as far as it goes.

Still a vast improvement. But what about the P-47's? Can anything be done?

Been asking that question for a while. It's in the coding somewhere, but I don't know where. Probably why the F9F doesn't display any numbers or why the F-86 has some issues with certain counties.

I'm not sure about any of the other new acft; where they get their marking info from.

March Hare/US_GRANT, you should try and contact the author of the Forgotten Countries mod(sanka), he would have had dealings with those files. If anyone could help, t would be him. :wink:
Also Gaston, who did the initial 'New Nations and Squadrons' mod.... 8)
