When i installed HL and tried to run it, it said Runtime error 339, Component 'mswinsck.ock' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

I also found this in the verinfo file:

aping.exe 1.0.0.18
dexec.exe 1.0.0.8
mswinsck.ocx No Version Info available!

Well..... i tried a active x repairer thing and it found 747 errors, but it turns out i have to pay money for it to actually FIX them.... This could be the problem or just a bunch of small problems.
Other than that nothing has worked.
