P-38 E F G and H

Nice one Gibbage. I'm curious if any FM changes with respect to compressibilty will be implemented with any of the new models.

+1 on the J-25, perhaps the *best* P-38 of all.

Praise be to Gibbage! At long last the gaping hole will be filled.

Hang on guys, lots and lots of work is still needed. Rather than saying I want all the fruit in the tree, what was done is pick the low hanging fruits.

Give it time

The G series was a bit of a cludge, since some were ordered by the British, but were canceled. I think im going to stick with the G-10-LO since it has the rocket option and were the most produced, with over 500. G-10's started delivery in Oct 42, but all you need to do is remove the rockets and you have a G-1 for earlier dates.

That describes this project perfectly. Picking the low hanging fruits. Its easy to modify the external to an E-H, but anything more will vastly increase the complexity and time required to a point that I cant do it.

gibbage Wrote:F4 and F5? No. Not from me. This is a combat sim. We have no real function for photo recon. If you want that, paint some black windows on the side of the gondola and fly around with no ammo. When you fly over enemy teritory, press screenshot a few times before you get shot down. Maybe even make a "chick chick" shutter sound with your mouth. Then youll have the authentic photo recon experience!

BTW, my solution to those who want training 2 seat aircraft is similar, and involves two office chairs and someone yelling at you "DONT DO THAT!".
ROFLMAO ya gotta love 'em

With this I absolutely DON'T want to press you or waste your precious time... So please don't shoot at me Smile ... It is only a dedicated suggestion from a big fan of this great fighting machine...

Is there any chance to let say "complete" the already in game P-38L and P-38L_Late with the correct denomination?
The P-38L is supposed to be the P-38L-1-LO .
The P-38L_Late is supposed to be the P-38L-5-LO .

It would be great if we can get the chance to fly with the 10 HVAR Rockets and the two Droptanks, too. This loadout was operationally used expecially on long range anti-barge sweeps. This combination was historically correct.
Actually the two gunpods that we have in the weapon selection for the L and L_Late are not historically correct, as they were only experimentally tested on one aircraft in the States, discarded due to the aerodinamic drag that affected the performance and never operationally used in combat.

I'm courious to know wich variant of the P-38J the one already in the game is supposed to represent. maybe a J-15-LO ? For sure it is not a J-25-LO as this one was externally indistinguible from an L, due to the landing light repositioned on the wing leading edge, and the Dive Flaps that were first applied to this variant...

I beg your pardon for pointing out this, it is not intended to be a complaint, only a suggestion based on historical evidence...

Thank you for the outstanding effort and be sure that it is deeply appreciated. Smile

Its possible, but not high on the priority list.

Actually, I have photo's of them being used on F4 and F5's and even pilot quotes who used them. But not like "never used or even existed" has ever stopped anything from getting into IL2. I mean we have the Do-335, 109Z and Ta-183, but your going to argue about experimental gunpods that nobody even uses anyways?

J-10 or J-15. I dont remember. Many of the J-10 and J-15 were upgraded to J-25-LO standard using kits that included the booster pumps, aileron power, and dive flaps.

I like to be historical, but for IL2, we are so far from historical its really almost humorous to point out little things, like the difference between J-10 and J-15 really has little relevance when you have stuff like the Heinkel Lerche buzzing around, dont you think?

Early versions of the P-38, this is what I call a great news !!! we will finally have the correct plane for a Yamamoto hunting mission !!!

Avoir la foi, c'est être plus sûr d'une chose que la raison ne le permet.

Great news! Early Lightnings (and Allison Mustangs) will fill the gap Oleg left us with, US fighters planeset for early war would be basically complete.
