Hi!

Dont panic!

just rename the file from weapons_ru.DOC to weapons_ru.
That should work

just open the file in notepad, do file>save as, and then just save the file in the appropriate folder with the name "weapons_ru.properties" (including the quotation marks) that should solve the problem.
hope that helps Smile

thx guys, i'll try that =P

EDIT: hmm, removing the .DOC extension doesnt work since it doesnt show any extensions, and saving it under "weapons_ru.properties" doesnt work either...my comp keeps reading em as a notepad document, and the same with that entire folder

Hi mate!

Try this:

Open in the desktop a new blank notepad file;
Copy and paste here all the lines in your old weapons_ru file;
Save the new one with the correct name: weapons_ru (without any extension);
Delete the old one;
Launch the game (it should CTD);
Copy and paste the new weapons_ru from desktop to the STD/i18 folder;
Launch the game again!

Let me know if this work!!!

cheers

If nothing works then do a system restore to a time when you had IL-2 running perfectly, ie beofre you buggered the files around Big Grin

Don't panic ---- These notes are based on WinXP
Vista maybe slightly different but the principal is the same.

Open Windows Explorer
Go to Tools/Folder Options
Click View Tab and scroll down

Unselect -- Hide extensions for known file types.

Now you should see the full file name, including the file extension.

Right Click the weapons_ru.doc file and rename to weapons_ru.properties
Check that this is the only file in the i18n folder which has been altered.

Thats it --- I think.

If you revert back to a week or so ago, won't the files still be there? :wink:
