I have just installed Il-2 1946 on my HP laptop

specs CPU P7350 (2.0ghz)
nvidia geforce 9600 512mb
4gbs ram

the game installs correctly. But when i run the game loads to 5% and shuts down automatically thus returning to desktop screen.

Can anyone give me some help with this problem please??

First install with UI1.1 and patch 1.1.1? Run IL2setup.exe and under the sound tab, set the sampling rate to 44100Hz.

Ah right, clean install, no mods. Can't think of a crash reason on a clean install, beside a faulty one?

Did you patch with 4.08 and run IL2setup.exe?

UI1.1 is the AAA "all in one" mod patch, the Unified Installer. Patch 1.1.1 is a patch for the UI.

If it is a 'clean' game with no mods in it something must have gone wrong with the install. Try re-installing it.

I'vr reinstalled it a couple of times but it still shut downs.

Gah, forgot to ask: Are you on Vista? People on Vista are advised to not install IL2 into the default location (C:\program files\), but to an alternate location, like C:\GAMES\FLIGHT\IL2_1946\ or something like that.
