i wanted to know how to add some of my own sounds to the game.

I've located the .wav, but apparently there is more to it than just swapping the .wav files.

any one know where to start??

It is just wav file swapping but you have to have same compression etc and mods enabled.

you should do a backup of your working install or the sound mod folder only

What sort of sounds , engine , gun , ect...?

i have engine and guns sounds that probably aren't much better than what the sound mod offers, but there are some sounds in the mod that could use little improvement.


I wanted to add some impact sounds and ricochets for when bullets hit the plane you fly.

Also is there a way to add external impact sounds. Like when my bullets slam into metal. I would think that would make some noise.


I have some sounds for that too, but there isnt a place to put them, is there??



Ive tried putting some new 50 cal sounds in, but the guns make no sound despite having the same properties. So i had to switch them back.
Thats why i wrote this.


oh yeah, and i have bomb explosions. Those are harder to part with, but im willing to share.
