SATA Drives (Problem loading IL2)
#1

I have just finished building computer Dual core AMD 5200+ With Graphics NVIDIA 9600 GT
I have also installed SATA Drives 4 hard drives (windows)(Page)(Game Drive)(Storage)
I Cannot load game onto Game Drive it stops at 7% with error 1603 Fat 4 error during install
supposed to look up MSI.chm or MSDN.
I cannot copy game from C drive to game drive same problem any one else have same set of problems. it only seems to want to work on C drive. is SATA going to be a problem??
Or have I missed something

Are all your SATA drives Formatted as NTFS?

Have you tried copying any other folders or game programs over to this drive, from your c drive, just to check its not a general pc problem that's at the cause of this error?

I came across this to deal with the MSI (Microsft Installer) error 1603:

Don't know if this helps you. I think first you need to establish or prove otherwise that il2 is the problem and not something on your new build, try installing something to this 'game' drive. Are you running Windows XP?

Also check your BIOS for your Main Board and ensure that your SATA function is set to IDE and not Raid.

You're usually going to get errors like that when using drives of different sizes/manufactures in a Raid Configuration.
