Is this possible?

Is it possible to re-insert an original IL2 plane back into the sim in it's own slot with a new name?

I mean take Plane-X, modify it in some way, and put it back in as Plane-X Mod. That way, changes could be made to FM's, DM's, and maybe weapons, without affecting the original.

One glaring problem that I'm hoping could be fixed in this way is the 75mm cannon's unreasonably slow rate of fire on the B-25H.

No one would be able to use anything modded like this unless the guy running the server included it, so It would not affect the integrity of the sim.

No.
You can't have both. Either it reamains original or not.

There was already a discussion about the 75 cannon "being too slow", and if i'm correct it was closed.

PS:I like the way you avoiding the main reason this site exists.

You are incorrect, it was not closed.

I avoided the sharing of mods that do not affect the integrity of the sim?

I'm not talking about opening anything to the public. This would still require all the same knowledge and skills (we'll, except maybe for 3D modeling) that are already necessary to produce mods now.

Trust me, I'm not interested in anything that would enable people to cheat.

Only 1 thing , the 75 mm cannon is not too slow.At that calibre what do u expect its rate of fire to be? 800 rpm?

Take a look at the evidence I presented in that thread.

This is not about the 75mm cannon. That was just one example. Another would be adding 1,000 lbs, some more fuel, and bomb racks to the F2A-2 to give us an F2A-3 without having to start from scratch.

most of the new slot planes are tweaked originals for example the spits and the 109's, they are not built from scratch, the base models are used from the originals

i cant see what is being asked here as being an issue.

Thank you.

So what you are asking is the same thing in that thread.
You should have posted on that thread then, as its still open.

I'm not going to discuss this further here.

Glad to hear it since your not paying attention to anything that I'm actually saying anyway.

Yes it is possible to add old aircraft into new slots, that is exactly what 99% of the new aircraft are here.

The rest is up to you, that is, learning how to do so.
